Sadly, we dont all think alike. Or is that fortunately? And we never will. Nor will we all have the same goals. Nor will everyone ever want to follow the crowd...any crowd. So no..we will never be able to achieve the commonality that you yearn for. Best to influence those who respect you and hope your immediate sphere is "user-friendly". signed---your cynical Dad...lol

i agree with your dad.
it's too bad, but people in general really don't have the kind of conviction neccessary for the sacrifice you're calling for (we're hoarding magpies, and sharing with the less-fortunate is abhorent) since we don't see the results immidiately. we want to donate a couple dollars to unicef and see the politics of uganda change; to put up a flyer on modern slavery and see the practice in sudan stop. plues, there is a pervading mindset that people deserve their lot: calvin did a lot for it in the west, hinduism in the east, and everywhere in between has their own way of justifying injustice.
i could go on and give you what i see as the christian view, but i'll spare you :)
take care, matt, we're thinking of you.

Hey Matty,

Wow - you are in a zone! My opinion for what it's worth is this: do the right thing whether someone is watching OR NOT. You make a difference in the lives of everyone you meet. You leave a little bit of you with them (much like a rash lol). Don't strive for control, strive for influence. Don't become a manager, become a leader. In all this madness you become a man of integrity, character, and self-respect. The catch 22 here is that when you are becoming this kinda of human making a positive difference other humans are doing the opposite. We can't stop "those humans" (free will and all) not all of them anyways, so keep on keepin' on.

Sidebar: Have you seen the movie the last supper? It doesn't have a talking Virgin Mary statue but goes right along with your post.

Love You!!! Sis
