So school's started, right?  I've been to class, sure, but it still doesn't feel like we've started.  I'm still working my summer job, I'm still living with Trevor, I haven't gotten my books, I haven't moved into my apartment in Allendale. I just can't get into the swing of things.  Oh, well things will work out.

I spent the last four days in one of my favorite places in the world, the state park in Ludington.  I went with Trevor, my brother and his wife Hannah, their black lab Ruby, and their very cool friend Nick.  We pitched our tents in the middle of the park in a campsite that was intended for at least twenty people which meant that we could see each ( Read more... )

I spent the day at Toledo Zoo.  It was quite a bit larger than my zoo and had orangs and giraffes and elephants and a bunch of other stuff that we don't have.  Many of their exhibits were very well done and very naturalistic, but our primates, at least the chimps, have a much better enclosure with actual space to roam around. While working in the budgie cage today I became the property of Bat Girl, a particular budgie who enjoys grabbing  onto things with one foot and flipping upside down.  Not only did she attack any other birds that tried to land on me, she crawled into my sleeve and proceeded to hang out inside my shirt for the better part of the afternoon.  I think ( Read more... )
