A woman who took in a wild, unmannered, hateful, redneck child and turned her into a woman who can at least aspire to be a gracious, loving, caring cultured adult.

Oh, dear.... How are Shan and Carol doing?

I've only talked to Shan & Shawn - Shan's devastated, of course. I told her I'd help them get to MI for the funeral, and told James if the funeral is Friday we're going. I'm going to call Carol tonight and see what the arrangements are.

She had a good, long life and unlike Granddad, got to die at home, in her sleep. May we all be so fortunate.

Here's hoping I see the student loan $$ before then. Poor Shan, she's under tons of stress because of a crumbling tooth she can't afford to fix right now. It's always something.
