Bra help!

Jan 07, 2016 10:42

It seems like there are a ton of bras out there, but none work for me, and I'm starting to feel a little overwhelmed! I'm a 48c, and my biggest problem with finding a bra that fits is that I have "side boob fat" that will cause the sides of bras to ride up or just be super uncomfortable. Anyone have any experience with this and know what type of ( Read more... )

No help to offer, but lots of sympathy to offer. I've got the same thing, plus really sloped shoulders so bra straps refuse to stay on my shoulders. Or on my boobs cuz they're small and sort of head toward the sides. It's just all bad, lol.

I hope other members have some good ideas!

Have you ever been properly measured? The day I was measured was the day my bra problems ceased [I found out I was a 38 G, not a 42 DD]. If you already have, apologies.

I actually never had! So I went to Lane Bryant today and the experience was a bit lackluster. I'm not quite sure the person really knew what they were doing as the proclaimed me to be a 60 DDD, and then said, well if you've been wearing a 48C, let's try a 48DD. I have to say, after trying on a couple, the 50C felt better, but didn't feel like magic, so I left with nada.

Okay, I think if you were wearing a 48, that's a hell of a jump to 60. Sucks - sounds like they didn't know what they were doing. Maybe you'll have better luck with the links other people gave. I'm sorry you had a crummy experience. :(

Noooo Lane Bryant is a terrible place to get measured. They are trained completely wrong. Them, Torrid and many other stores train their people to fit you with the +5 method - where they measure your underbust, add 5 inches, and call that your band size. No no no. The underbust measurement should be as close in number to your band size as possible. Otherwise, that's what contributes to side boob. That extra 5 inches they added to the band should be breast tissue that goes into your cups, not tucked under your arms. If you're suffering from sideboob, your band size should go down and cup up because of that ( ... )

The abrathatfits subreddit changed my life, seriously. I went from wearing a 44D and hating life, down to a 40GG.

I agree with the comments above - you may not be wearing the correct size. I used this guide and went from a 44DD to a 40 F and suddenly bras fit perfectly and comfortably.

That links has a TON of other links, including one to the aforementioned a bra that fits subreddit as well as links to universal sizing, and places to buy bras if you find you're a size that's not easily found in stores. I hope it helps you!

I will check that site, thank you! I think the wrong size is definitely the issue!
