The first week of school has been an exercise in routine-changing, especially with the loss of internet access at home. Just FYI - posting/reading here will be significantly less frequent than it is now as I'm shutting my home internet service off this evening, as dictated by finances. I'll still be available at the usual email addresses, just that I'll only be checking them at work or during trips to the library when I'm not working.

Pet sitter found - much relieved.

Stressing a bit... I'm going out of town on Wednesday for four days and so far my attempts at getting a petsitter to check in on the birds have failed. My aunt who lives ten minutes away unfortunately is near phobic of both snakes and birds so she thinks she won't be able to handle it, even though the birds technically don't even need to come out ( Read more... )

My boss is on vacation all this week so I've become The Man for the duration. It happens yearly about this time, and it's always sort of surreal being able to plan my entire day for myself, and kinda relaxing as a result of that freedom. I went for a walk at lunch today, walking about a mile before returning sweating profusely. Weather report right now reads 85 degrees and 68% humidity, which actually feels a great deal better than the 78/88% it read earlier in the afternoon ( Read more... )

Heading into this semester, I became aware that I was supposedly eligible for two separate scholarships, both for incoming transfer students, one through the community college honor society and the other through the college itself.
