The incarceration has begun - today I put a Mylar collar on Boo (my blue-crowned conure) to allow his feathers to grow back in and hopefully prevent him from picking said feathers in the future. Six months ago or so a rumor sprung up here at work that management was considering hiring another tech person. My boss fought it tooth and nail, due to the setbacks we'd have to deal with with regard to training the new person and other factors, not the least of which is that hiring a second person would permanently cut my hours back to 20 a week ( Read more... )

Yesterday was orientation orientation at the U. 'twas an all-day session, with lunch provided in the form of pasta salad, sandwiches, cookies, bottled water, and chips.
