I know every time they happen, I sort of forget ahead of time how much I love the Olympics.

But then they start up, and I'm totally hooked.

For example, I kind of forgot the awesomeness that is Johnny Weir.

Until I watched this, that is.

That was pretty fabulous. I love that Johnny Weir.
I am excited about the 'lympics too. I call them the 'lympics because I'm too busy to say the whole word. I'm having a party at some TBA date, actually, to watch figure skating.

It's pretty hysterical...it's all about some sports journalist trying to create a semi-fake-sounding rivalry between Weir and this other guy who's all, I want to bring the daring, the sportsmanship back to figure skating. I want it to be an extreme sport like snowboarding or skiing.
BUT....the article is accompanied by pictures of him trying to look tough in ostrich feathers. And at a certain point it's all, Lysacek said, "Figure skating is a manly sport. I want to emphasize that." Then he had to go because he was late for Vera Wang to fit him for a bedazzled body stocking.

um, I think I am more excited about the men's figure skating than the women's this year. Ever since Sasha got the boot, I just can't get excited about the 12 year old upstarts who have replaced her. Le sigh. I loves me some Johnny Weir, though.

Also, who remembers the ice dancing duo Tanith Belbin and Ben Agosto?????????? Tanith is still hot and tasty. OH YEAH. I am all over that.

Tan and Ben (as I like to call them)!! Of course I remember them.

And Evan Lysacek, too.

I love that all of these people are completely forgotten by me whenever the Olympics are not on, and then as soon as the Olympics comes back, all the connections in my brain return.

Like if you'd asked me a month ago to name Olympic figure skaters, I'd have been like, 'Nancy Kerrigan, Tanya Harding, Brian Boitano, Torville and Dean, Kristi Yamaguchi, and I'm out', and now it's all, 'Tan and Ben! Lysacek! Johnny Weir!'

I'm an Olympics whore.

Yeah, same here. Who remembers Midori Ito? Chen Lu? Surya Bonaly? They don't make figure skaters like Surya anymore, I remember she was all, "I am going to a quadruple flip triple sow cow combination, bitches" and also, "I am certifiably insane: watch me interview with Bob Costas as my mom signals to me in sign language which answers to give while she lurks in the background".

oh man, I love the olymics soooooo much.
