Bills, bills, bills...

Today we have been doing something we should have done a long time ago. Sorting out and shredding/burning old bills. We decided on keeping stuff for five years - its a bit of an arbitrary number but if we can stick to it it will keep the mountains of paper to a minimum.

So - a poll!

Well - that is certainly a kind of recycling :)

Have been a victim of credit card fraud I'm a bit paranoid about disposal of bills.

I don't have a credit card, so my bills are of the very unexciting variety - invoices for stuff I then send cheques or make phone debit card payments for, rather than account details. If I had direct debits set up for utilities I'd be a bit more wary about that kind of thing, though.

Well - the other fraud I had to deal with was someone ordering phones on my vodafone account and running up £1000s of bills!

Certain bills I do dispose of; shred, then compost. Otherwise, it's "when I get 'round to it".

Keep throwing stuff out, not just paper but everything else that your aren't using - and likley never will. It feels good, and makes moving easier.

We did a lot of that when we put stuff into storage seven months ago! *So* many trips to the dump and the charity shops!

BTW - while you were in Mexico we went to Pride in Brighton and I took loads of photos of the parade. Thought you might be interested as you have an appreciation of the fabulous :)

I have to qualify my bin answer. A "Torn into tiny strips then binned because my shredder has a wire loose and gives me an electric shock when I use it" option would be good.
