however, the fucking awful truth is that making movies has added so much, yet fucked us up so much as a culture. (positive: we get to tell amazing stories and change society) (negative: people latch onto the idea of fiction as a reality and also put celebrities on the holy altar) so as a filmmaker, remember this stuff: fame is a bi-product of something great you do. acheiving great things in order to gain fame doesnt work. always tell a good story, but more importantly have a good purpose for telling that story. and keep in mind what an impact you have on our culture by making a great cinematic achievement. hope that helps? keep pushing scott - youre in the city where big things happen. oh yeah, and dont forget - fear hollywood.
