I've been hearing nothing but great things about this game so I might have to give it a shot sometime. I enjoyed Flower, though more as an artistic experience than as any sort of game, really. Flower to me makes a better screensaver or viewing experience, as I don't really feel any gumption to go back and play it again. Replay value for me is very low, but Eyecandy value is off the charts :) This game strikes me as something similar -- something that's beautiful to try out, but I likely wouldn't revisit it. But if it's like playing art, then that's worth the price of admission I'm sure.
That's actually a great comparison. Consider it as a kind of interactive art exhibit - or better: some kind of painting that you're a major part of. Sometimes the motion becomes so natural and fluid that you think you're dancing ballet within a picture frame - though its way easier to control than a Hack'n'Slash game like DMC or GoW. ;-)
I've never played "Dear Esther" before, but it seems to be kinda similar: a way to express feelings and emotions and tell stories - not exactly a game, but also not a movie. Maybe a "govie"? ;)
Journey is something you will pick up and play once or twice - definitely not worth the money if you're looking for re-play value or game lenght per dollar. But its also a game you might want to pick up after some years and still have a whole different (and great) experience because THAT grafic still will hardly ever age.
