Damn I'm good (or is it good I'm damned?)

Well, I saw everybody else taking the religion quiz, so I figured I'd give it a shot as well.

I guess I've been reading too much of Conversations with God recently. I agree with a lot of the stuff that this guy writes about, most of it's common sense stuff (but remember that common sense ain't too common).

My results are below:

I am actually amazed at how different people's results are. It kinda blows my mind that among my friends, I can find people who have radically different religious world views.... I assumed that almost everyone would be similar.

Whose results surprised you and why?

Well, let's start with the satanism thing. It is pretty much all about hedonism, i.e. "Do as thou wilt shall be the whole of the law". As a general rule, hedonists would vote libertarian and be royally obnoxious.... not the sort I would want to hang with.

Secondly, the number of people I know who have strong christian scores also surprises me. It takes a lot of effort to really be a christian, or any religion for that matter. Most people who claim to be christian really aren't, and I know so few people who actually claim to be christian.

The hardest religion to be is actually atheist. To strongly believe that there certainly is no god without any proof one way or the other is counter-sensible. Most people who claim to be athiest are just fed up and delusional catholics :P

Why am I not surprised??? donutato_kun May 25 2005, 04:54:20 UTC
Hey, at least my channeling of the dark forces got you to post. I gotta give Satan his props when he's due. :-D

However, I find the fact that Christianity is right below Satanism with you to be infinitely amusing. I'm sure there's some subliminal message about the whole Yin and Yang thing in there somewhere.

When I took this quiz, I did choose a lot of the answers on the letter of the question, rather than the spirit.

For one example, one of the questions asked if I thought Jesus was the 'Son of God', to which I answered yes. Thing is, we are all the sons and daughters of God, just as Jesus was.

Even though the results are dubious, I did like the fact that the quiz led to many interesting discussions.

I like the discussion too... samcallahan May 27 2005, 01:23:58 UTC
I didn't even save my results, but was highly amused by the fact that I scored the highest on the two religions I knew the least about (Hinduism and Judaism). And I was amazed at how many similarities it brought out (donatuto kan, fuzzyscribble, ordinary, and myself).
