I can just tell this semester is going to be like pulling teeth. Even though I didn't want to do the comps and take another class, I should have taken the comps.  Time for an update, people. Things are going really well around these parts. Fall is starting up (if a little late), and it's wonderful to have crisp air again. So Jordan proposed to me on my birthday, and it was pretty wonderful. It wasn't an elaborate proposal, but it was very sweet and perfect for us. We had to call our parents and my parents were quite surprised it was this early, but I guess my mom has been calling relatives like a giddy schoolgirl...so that's good. Honestly, I've been getting everything done and stepping outside of my comfort zone, but I guess I feel like I could be doing more. Some kind of large animal has moved into the apartment above me. The animal isn't around a lot. It mostly returns after I've been in bed an hour or so. Big heavy footsteps that can still be heard through earplugs. I have concluded that it must be a rhinocerous or an elephant or perhaps a hippo. Maryland is kind of funny. They say some things differently, but don't make a big deal about it like people in Buffalo. It's soda here, but no one even says anything about it when I say pop. So I just booked a flight to Buffalo over the 4th. I should be happy about this right? Yeah, it'll be nice, but I pretty much went above and beyond to not be alone.
