RMFC 2009 Con Report

For starts, allow me to warn peeps that if you ever visit Denver, avoid the Crown Plaza hotel like the plague, I was shocked by the lack of professionalism by the staff and at $150 per night no less. I had no issues with the convention staff, and they did a great job, but the hotel staff left much to be desired. My problems started 2 months ago ( Read more... )

That's pretty sad that a hotel that charges that kind of money doesn't put much effort into satisfying its customers. As for the incident that occurred while you guys were going to dinner, that is one of the reasons I do not venture out in public while wearing a fursuit. While there are good people in society, the majority are a bunch of wankers that go out of their way to make others miserable. I hope your next convention experience is a much better one.

MFM is my next one. I can say from past experience that the hotel staff is nothing less than awesome there. @ years ago at closing ceremonies the hotel manager said were one of the best con's the hotel has ever had the pleasure of hosting. A good furiend (you know who you are)will be there to so I'll have someone to hang with. Previous years I've gone I've had fun but didn't really know anyone.

Sorry to hear the hotel was so miserable! I failed to make it down for the 'Con but I've actually stayed there many times for the Great American Beer Festival. I do prefer the hotel just leave me alone though. So long as they keep bringing me more coffee or I can lift some myself from an unguarded housekeeping cart I'm happy!

Last year was cause for concern because I was late in making my reservations and my initial reservation was in three different rooms over four nights, but they worked it all out before the event. Failed to reserve in time this year, so I'm a few blocks north but I forget where. I'll have to look that up...

We apologize that some of our attendees had issues with the hotel, and there staff. While we understand, and agree that we would love for every guests stay at the hotel to be a flawless one, this is not always possible. It is however fare more productive to inform us of issues with the hotel, so that they can be addressed in a constructive matter, rather than tearing down a local business that, despite your rant, bent over backwards to try and make our event the best it could be. Please attempt to be constructive and provide us with issues that came up so that they can be specifically addressed with the Crowne Plaza. Remember, just as we are new to the hotel, the hotel is new to many of the requirements of our event, and this can lead to growing pains on both sides.

With all due respect Sorin, my rant isn't directed to you or Ivan, or Kahuki, or any of the other con staff, you guys did a great job on your end. The hotel, new to dealing with furs or not, that is no excuse for failure to provide basic service, especially after being specifically requested.
