I was notified by Live Journal that I was given another achievement, namely twenty-three years on Live Journal. It's hard to believe that it's been that long, but if I am to be honest, days, weeks, months, and even years are flying by faster than ever in my perception. Life really is brief.

I received an e-mail yesterday from the daughter of a long time friend of my family. When my family moved to Hopatcong, New Jersey from Staten Island, New York, one of the first friends my parents made was with a couple named Joe and Mary DeRoide. The Christmas gathering at Lisa's house went well. Today, some of the same people I spent Christmas with gathered at Jim and Mary's house for salad and Smoran (a bread type of food), along with vanilla cake, cheesecake, and coffee for dessert. I set up our Christmas tree today. This is the first time I've put up a Christmas tree before Thanksgiving in many, many years. I had the time and just wanted to get it done. It's hard to believe that Thanksgiving is a week from this coming Thursday.
