Sometimes when I watch adaptations, I think the screenwriter just went to the Wikipedia page for the original, jotted down all the important plot points, and made shit up for the rest. My annual challenge to see 100 new movies didn't work out so well. I only got to 98, which is embarrassing since I was so close, and totally could have finished if I had tried harder.
