So I followed up with a stupid smoothie place and they said they had gotten 500 applications. 500 APPLICATIONS?! Shoot. Kinda the same story everywhere else I've called.

yeah it's awesome already. i am just doing the baking/pastry program, but it's going to be a ton of fun. a ton of work, but fun, too...

in this climate my advice on getting jobs is this:

be diligent, to the point where you're showing what you're made of. not being cocky & pompous, but showing them, hey I'm better than those 500 applicants. that could work!

OR
find a friend that can get you hired at their job. that honestly works best in this recession, all the good jobs come that way.
