A recent article talks about the case where a player was offered $100,000 euros to throw a first round match at Wimbledon in 2005 and declined the offer.

From a Perforce mailing list I subscribe to: "It appears that after the latest DST patch, Windows is using 2007 DST rules for all date conversions... even historical dates." GAH! Among other things, this causes files using keyword expansion in revision control systems to behave differently.

I did laundry today. Most of my clothes have "tumble dry low" on the label. I've always wondered, does any clothing exist that say "tumble dry high"?

The worst thing about holidays like Halloween and Christmas is that people bake icky tasting cookies that look cute instead of yummy chocolate-chip cookies.

These one day holidays, while relaxing, don't tend to be all that productive. I find it difficult to get motivated to do much more than sit around the house. I don't really want to tire myself out with any projects knowing that I have to work the next day, but at the same time I get frustrated at wasting the day away.
