Off the top of my head, a list of my favorite board games from childhood. I think at some point I will look to reacquire the ones I don't still have.

I found some pictures of plastic pieces similar to the ones I remember. The set I had used the small three-pointed pieces for one army, and larger five or six pointed pieces for ten armies. My set didn't have any five-army counters and it was written in English.

Apparently, we had the 1968 version with wood pieces. This is the best picture I could find with the 10s pieces. They're kind of oval from the side and triangular when viewed from the end.

Growing up it was Monopoly, Clue and Scrabble. We also played a lot of Parcheesi and The Game of Life. I probably didn't know what insurance was, either, but I was more fascinated by the Art Linkletter money. O:-)

In high school, I played Diplomacy pretty much constantly. When it wasn't Diplomacy, it was some AH war game like Squad Leader or Panzer Blitz.

But my all-time favorite game was probably Mousetrap. I loved putting together the crazy, Rube Goldberg contraption. I spent far too much time alone putting it together and catching plastic mice. O:-)

My vocabulary was too limited as a child to make Scrabble much fun. I was too lazy to do things like memorize all the two letters words in the English language. Mousetrap is near the top of the list of games I always wanted as a child but never got.

I liked the AH games too, but rarely got to play them.
