Does reading the Tropic of Cancer make you feel like squeezing in a lot of fucking?

Well...I'm only about 40 pages into it...

It's very visceral, and I've already realized that paying too much attention to the identities of the characters will only lead to madness. It's a book that one has to let wash over you, I think, rather than reading for detail or analysis...

Right now, my main impression is that it's rather the opposite of reading for school. :)

Then it sounds like you are reading the perfect vacation book. If you need another along the same vein, I suggest Isabel Allende's Aphrodite: A Memoir of the Senses. A knuckle biter, in the best of ways.

Napoleon ate truffles before meeting Josephine in their amorous battles in the imperial bedchamber, in which it is no exaggeration to say, he always wound up defeated. Scientists - however do they come up with these experiments, I wonder? - have discovered that the scent of the truffle activates a gland in the pig that produces the same pheromones present in humans when they are smitten by love. It is a sweaty, garlic-tinged odor that reminds me of the New York subway.

I like May the best, I think. Followed closely by October, just because that will always be funny.

I think 2007 will be good too. If I could just finish this fucking construction.

I'm sure October was hilarious. I'll never *remember* it, but I'm sure.
