Man. I hate when people don't follow all of my rules! Especially the ones about sending me tithes of really good books and chocolate and . . .um. . . new cycling shoes! Isn't this easy, people?
Seriously, countries have been my favorite metaphorpeople getting along with each other and respecting each other's rules, customs and boundaries. At any given time, a good percentage of the world is going to be unhappy with you; allies are amazing to come by and everything seems to work better when people put on their best diplomat hats to deal with conflicts great and small.
i don't know you at all, but i think you are spot on! i love that metaphor. i'm going to remember my "diplomat hat" next time i'm faced with a conflict.
And (belatedly) at least you're not stuck at school over the next three days as you pound out 21,600 characters of CivPro goodness. Feel free to give me a bell next time you get frustrated like that and are near school, I'd be more than willing to hop over and do sugar/caffeine inspired zaniness of the uplifting nature. Or not, as the case may be.

Although, I must admit, sometimes when I go to put on my diplomacy hat I remember that it's at the damn cleaners.
