The Scarf
I had about 8-10 skeins of pretty blue yarn that I bought for a project about 3 years ago. I knitted the front of a top and never picked the damn thing up again. Okay, so the year is almost out, and I managed to read 36 out of 50 books this year... not my goal, but not at all bad!
And, so, on the 1st of January, the challenge starts over... -
It's Been a While...
So, I spent all day studying, because I'm about to take my test to see if I'm ready to go out on the clinic floor. WHICH MEANS I MIGHT TAKE CLIENTS AS EARLY AS TUESDAY AND I AM NERVOUS. -

Today I started my professional development class that I only learned I was taking yesterday. My instructor was talking about the importance of communication, and he had a story from another one of his classes:
He was saying that everyone needed to learn to communicate with their clients, and this one woman said, "I don't."

I'm getting used to this schedule. I don't LIKE it, and I doubt I ever will, but I'm getting used to it. The good thing about working in a salon is that you can make your own schedule, essentially, especially as a booth-renter. I imagine it's different if you own the salon, or if you just work reception.

First Week...
I finished my first week of cosmetology school! It's going well so far, even though the new sleep schedule is hard to get used to (I'm basically sleeping in two large blocks of time, so I'm alert through all my waking hours), and I still don't have the stand for my severed head, since it hasn't gone through customs yet (it happens once a year, ( Read more... ) -

I am 99% sure I killed the cricket.
Also, I like using the word skivvies. A lot. I'm going to use it, and sound like I do when I holler at 11-year-olds with cellphones to GET OFF MY LAWN! (Isn't that annoying? How much use for a cellphone can you have at 11? And isn't it awful when school lets out early, and there's a bunch of them all over the ( Read more... ) -
Just When I Really Don't Need It...
There is another cricket. On my ceiling.
Well, actually it could be anywhere, since I can't find it. It WAS on my ceiling.
Also, my dryer is broken. It will shock anyone that tries to use it.
MY DRYER IS BROKEN AND MY SKIVVIES ARE DRYING ON MY BED AND THERE IS A CRICKET LOOSE IN MY BEDROOM AND I HATE THIS. I HATE IT.
