Glimpses: A Fanmix/fic - BtVS/SPN crossover - Hard R - Faith/Dean, Sam
I'm having trouble letting go of this fic, but school is starting up so here goes...plus, I can always write more tag fics in this 'verse later on. Oh, and here's a fun game--try and figure out which songs on this mix were picked by me and which by Dean. Heh.

Title: Glimpses: A Fanmix/Fic

Pairings/Characters: Primary characters are Faith Lehane from BtVS/AtS and Dean & Sam Winchester from Supernatural. Primary pairing is Faith/Dean. Some Faith/other, Dean/other. Allusions to Sam/Jess and also Sam/other. Guest stars or mentions a variety of other Buffyverse, SPN and original characters.
Rating: Pretty much always R for language-sometimes a good deal more R for sex and some violent content.
Summary: This started out as me making a Faith/Dean fanmix. Then I realized that the mix had a chronology to it based on my fanon, so I decided to write a series of drabbles to explain that. Now what we have is around 24,000 words spanning about 15 years of narrative time paired with nineteen songs. However, it comes in bite-sized vignettes.

Note: The prologue takes place mid-S1 SPN and the rest of the story picks up a few months after the events of “Devil’s Trap,” making this a combination Buffyverse future!fic and post-S1 SPN AU.
Acknowledgements: This story is dedicated to greenapricot. Because she’s my girl. And because she’s the one who sat me down on her couch for three days and made me watch all of Supernatural. Also there’s the fact that she totally got on board, uploading songs and listening to me babble endlessly on the phone, IM, and while pacing around in her basement or gesticulating madly on my back porch. She did all of this even though she “doesn’t [usually] read het” and she’d never even seen a Faith episode of BtVS at the start of this insanity. She watched it for me, so in some weird way, this whole thing is like an expression of our epic, fannish love. Much love also to tkp for beta-reading, cheerleading and kicking my ass into gear to make this thing better. And finally, many thanks to everyone who ever commented on the beta-filter while this was WIP, but I want to give special mention to the dedicated input of catling42, girlguidejones, miss_begonia, alizarin_nyc and tasyfa. (P.S. If you did read this WIP, I’ve made quite a few changes and additions, but it is essentially the same story, only hopefully better and also in order. Heh.)
Warning: If you’re someone who is diametrically opposed to the idea that Faith might, at any point, sleep with women, then I just don’t understand this is probably not the story for you. Also, the first bit is song!fic-ish, but the rest actually isn’t particularly.
She’s fucking up his sense of up and down, with her preternatural strength and her lack of tact and the way it seems like she looks right through him sometimes. But Dean doesn’t care too much about that. Because under the care of Faith’s lapping tongue and writhing body, he feels something that isn’t death.
On the surface, Faith seems like the kind of girl he should have met in a pool hall-somewhere sweaty, smoky and beer-soaked-instead of by these crumbling cliffs, kicking the shit out of the demon he came out here to meet, him with Sam in tow and guns blazing hot. Because in that case there would have just been anonymous sex and a complete lack of unfolding truths-it would have been so normal.
