For personal stuff, I concur. On those occasions when I post publicly, I do so because I want to say something to as many people as possible, including those whom I neither know nor who know me. I usually remember to say at the beginning of the post that it is public, so my friends are warned that their comments may be seen by everyone. That does not mean, however, that I want what I have said to be cross-posted elsewhere. If I want to post to e.g. Facebook, I am capable of doing so myself, and indeed would prefer to do so myself.
LiveJournal and Facebook are separate entities, and their function is different. Truly personal stuff that might be posted here or (e.g.) in the Shed would never find its way to my Facebook page. Different purpose; mostly different set of people. There are overlaps, but not many.
