After working hard to stay safe for almost two years, the plague has finally reached my inner circle. Layla-May had exactly two days back in school last week, developed symptoms on Sunday while she was with me, and then tested positive for covid on Tuesday.

So Doctor Who's 'Flux' mini-series has finished, and my overall verdict is…entertaining nonsense. Entertaining in that I mostly enjoyed watching the series, certainly more than I enjoyed the last two seasons, nonsense in that if you pause to examine almost any element of it in any depth whatsoever, the whole thing falls apart like a house of cards ( Read more... )

Today I attended my first in-person funeral in over two years. I've done a whole bunch of streamed funerals in that time, including for my own cousin, which I desperately wanted to attend but couldn't, so it felt like quite a big deal to be able to attend in person today.

So we've had two episodes now of this year's heavily serialized six-episode Doctor Who mini-series. It's still early days to offer commentary on the overarching plot, but in terms of substance and structure…I'm surprised to say that I'm really enjoying the season, so far.

Lately I have been watching Leverage: Redemption - with many thanks to galathea_snb for enabling me in this! The wall is built. The rubble is gone. The patio has been repaired. The lane door has been replaced, and they've even left a gap for hedgehogs at the bottom like I asked.
