Interesting. Is it meant to be slashy? :) I guess if it was for "femslash," huh. I would enjoy reading more about this relationship if it wasn't slashy. :)
Ooooh! Yes yes yes. This isn't the first HP/Buffy crossover I've ever seen but, oh, Dawn/Hermione - it makes so much sense, somehow. Particularly the dead languages bit. Because I don't really think of Dawn as exceptionally academic but of course she is so well-versed on the sort of things Hermione would know about, and researches similar sorts of things. And ice cream, yay. Thank you. :D
I'm so pleased that you like it! I know it isn't the most obvious thing, but I've always seen Dawn as geeky, at least in a specific way, and somehow, it just made sense to me.
I love this Dawn. I mean, I love Dawn anyway, but this feels like the right future for her. You've made her the perfect mix of strength and a frivolity that isn't, underneath, at all frivolous. Her calm (jiggly leg and all) and Hermione's fretting go perfectly together. It's nice to see Hermione meet her match!
As I said elsewhere, it was a moment of inspiration to pair these two, but I think it works well.
As for Dawn, I do like her, and I like stories where we see how her rather unusual experiences have changed her--she has a certain amount of depth underneath all the giggling.
Glad you liked it. Unfortunately, I tend to leave the torrid sex to the imagination of the reader, who's generally better than me at that kind of thing anyway.
