I don't think 5 year plans or long-term thinking really works or is necessary for the most part. Maybe for general things like "getting a house" or "getting a car" or "going to school" or "getting my dream job". In the end, I'm trying the pull all the bits I ever was throughout my life back into one person that resides here in the present. A person that didn't compromise with himself to get to where he wanted to be. A person that accepts all the beauty and ugliness he holds. Fighting Back..
It's hard to write when it doesn't feel like there's any grey matter left up there to churn things out. I made up my own writing assignment for myself. Pretty much.. write whatever 3 pieces of musical composition inspire in the time it takes for them to finish playing. I'd never heard them before, but the plan sure does get the ball rolling. I believe in the power of the written word because you do not oppress with it. People don't have to listen. They can turn the paper over or close the cover of the book.
