Smallville 7.1 - Bizarro

Y'know, Smallville begins and I actually, physically cringe, just waiting for this show to hurt my feelings. Which it did, a little, and will no doubt continue to do all season long. Still, imagine my surprise at being able to compile a list of things I LIKED about the ep!

Hurt your feelings? How so?

Yeah, the premiere...didn't suck. I was living in a state of confusion for most of it, since I haven't really thought about the show in 4 months and kinda forgot a lot of stuff, but the emotional parts were SPOT ON.

I've never outright hated Lana, but she's certainly the character I would miss the least if she died or was gone. That said, everyone's grief over her death was just fucking heartbreaking. Lex! Chloe! Clark NOT crying but so desperately grief-stricken anyway! Tom and Allison rocked those scenes hardcore.

The sunlight thing was SO PRETTY. A little out of nowhere -- have they ever made a point about the yellow sun on this show before? -- but still, awesome. And you know why the sun makes Clark stronger than kryptonite makes Bizarro!Clark? Because Krypton was only a planet. THE SUN IS A STAR, BABY. :D

Oh, I've been whining about SV hurting my feelings for so long, it's just habit, now. The usual culprits are: Lex being lame, Lex being lame over Lana, Clark being mean to Lex, CLana, Lana existing, Chloe being lame, Chloe being mean to Lex... The list goes on. And I admit, I'll never get over the show becoming Lanaville when I was hoping for a story about a legendary friendship gone tragically wrong.

Bah, apologies for the rant. I'm really not a hater! Much. So, tonight, it was really just Lana. And the usual nonsense -- like, why did Lex bring Bizarro Clark to the Kryptonite?

Anyway, I agree that the grief was well-acted -- and very pretty :) And -- unless there's a really hot CLex scene -- the Clark and Chloe scenes have been my favorites since she found out the secret. Love their chemistry.

I didn't think SV had made a point about the yellow sun, before. I didn't even know that Clark knew... But yes, PRETTY.

Hee. "Hurting your feelings" is just a funny way of putting it. :P

the Clark and Chloe scenes have been my favorites since she found out the secret. Love their chemistry.

Sing it. Their relationship is by far the best part of the show anymore. It's always been in my top two favorite relationships -- Clark and Lex being the other interesting one until recently -- but now it's one of the few things that keeps me watching.

Heh, like I said, whiny. And melodramatic. And accurate dammit! Caring about this show hurts :( Even more than QaF 513 :( :(

Again, lucky for us, both shows are pretty :)

Loved it! I am so easily amused by this show. I really enjoyed the premiere, and I agree, Erica did a fantastic job in this episode.

PS: I want Chloe's green shirt. Shocked? I didn't think so. :))

It was great fun, wasn't it? :) I'm trying not to get my hopes up, heh. But hey, Sam and Dean come back next week and that's all I really need on Thursday nights!

As for the shirt, I wish. SV clothes are hard to track down, and they have a fantastic wardrobe budget. Some of Chloe's t-shirts are worth $90 alone. It's insane.
