you know... those sorts of constraints on people isn't healthy. and they shouldn't worry... if they *know* and believe that they raised you correctly... then you need no further guidance on how to live your life. it's a memory thing.
but... keep in mind... nobody ever really lives on their own... there's usually someone else involved... be it a roomie or something. the only other option is finding someplace cheap.

i recommend looking for colleges anyway, whereever you want to go, and applying. if you get in... tell them. i'm sure your parents want you to go to some kind of school, right? how could they deny you that when you've already got one foot in the door?
