Sometimes I go to the theater and wonder if I'm seeing the same performers the reviewer saw. Jim and I were in the audience for 'Collected Stories' at Manhattan Theater Club last night. Either no one is around, or everyone tumbles in at once. My best friend is joining the Peace Corps tomorrow, and they are sending her to the Republic of Georgia! Sunday Jim and I were at the theater again, for Australian playwright Andrew Bowell's work "When the Rain Stops Falling". The playwright is new to me (only one other play of his was produced in New York), and it's nice to see serious drama tackled by a new generation of writers. Jim and I went to Manhattan Theater Club Friday night to see 'Equivocation' by Bill Cain, a fairly new playwright. The story centers on an imagined intersection of the Gunpowder Plot (Guy Fawkes and company) and Mr. William Shagspeare and his fine cooperative theater troupe.
