You'd think last year (or was it the year before?) when there was a big thing about Brood Ten cicadas that were supposed to be everywhere, I would have seen some. But I have thus far seen only exoskeletons. Until today ( Read more... )

It was two years ago, and they were EVERYWHERE here. And they tried to mate with anything . . . it was insane. I don't miss them much. :)

We were supposed to have them everywhere but it turned out we had barely any, thus it was said that it was not Brood Ten after all.

It was funny, after I took the pictures (which are on flickr) one of the scared the crap out of Dana by flying up from under the picnic table while she was standing on top of it!

During the assult two years ago, one of my friends had one in her cello during a recital . . . it was quite interesting.

I shall go to flickr and find the pics! I'm glad you're posting again! :)

I saw those pictures! Scary stuff! :-P At least the one that flew past Dana didn't get caught in her hair! The horror! I used to run like crazy from Japanese beetles when I had really long hair because they would get caught up in it. Grossness.

You can post your photos from Flickr by either clicking on "Blog this" on the photo page (near the add to sets and groups links) or by clicking on "All Sizes" and copying and pasting the HTML code into your journal entry. Either way, it's kind of a pain, but I think the first way is quicker once you get it set up. :-)
