I really loved the first trilogy. I did. I loved it up until the end of the second book, I think. But then it started to slide until things are just so skewed that I don't know how she can bring it back.

I know this is old, but I just finished Kushiel's Avatar and I couldn't disagree more with the person who disliked it. I thought the first book was mediocre, the second was better. The third, I couldn't put down. It was far and away the best of the trilogy.

I couldn't get through the first book. -Shifty eyes.- Too much purple prose overshadowing everything, and too many characters to keep track of. I lost interest right around when the two characters I actually liked were killed off. ._.
