T-Shirts that say "Girls like it better here" or "This place is for lovers" or even simply the name of the state--are toted on teenage girls around America...except for the girls who actually live there. The side bangs and flats are worn with pride as people everywhere are getting in the state of mind this state brings. Why is the world obsessed ( Read more... )

asldjf;f aghhhhh, Thea- I can't express how amazingly true this is and I totally understand how the wearing of shirts that say "California" can make you want to hit them. I know exactly where you're coming from when you say that California is magical because, well, it is. It brought out the best memories and the greatest times between some incredible people and I wish the people who unknowngly speak of it as a dreamland knew how it made US feel because really, it put us into euphoria ( ... )

Thea...today i was in my acting class and we were told to tell about something in our lives that was embarassing, or just a time in your life that you will never forget. I told about California, and about all the memories that were made and can never be taken away. California definitely has a place in my heart like nothing else. I tell people that i love it out there and they ask my why? the only thing i can really tell them is that it is amazing, and i have never felt the way i did when i was there. When i think of California, i think of joy, peace, beauty, love, friends, fun, and especially memories. We will definitely take a road trip out there one of these days and have the time of our lives....i promise...when i don't know, but we HAVE to.

I love you! <3<3<3<3

"...and I fear I may be one of the only people who know it as "California" by Phantom Planet instead of "The OC Theme Song." It was a song long before it was a theme."
SO glad someone else knows this like i do, and it doesn't surprise me a bit that it's you.
and you're right, no one else could possibly understand the amazing experience you had in california, or how much it means to you; how deeply you feel for it. it seems to me that it's kind of like your second love...only stewart above it, haha :) i do and don't understand: i've had my own sacred locations (as you well know), so i understand in that respect, but i also didn't have the experience you had, so i don't...and that's cool. i'm glad you have something so special that's just yours, thea. it's an important thing. cherish it, and never let it go.

love you, girl ;)
