Isn't it amazing, this song? It's like a pillar of chimney and cigarette smoke came to life and sang the Depression Anthem. It's like black diner coffee at 4 AM because you don't want to sleep, and the lights go out anyway. I could think of a lot of metaphors, I suppose, but none of them are as good as this song. Some of you have received Xmas cards or other holiday cards from me, and know of my little forays into construction paper collage-type thingies. If I was really a dab hand with construction paper, and a much better artist than I am with much more ambition than I have, I would make something like this.
