BABIES!!

Okaa had her babies tonight!!!!When I woke up this morning, I remember thinking it was really weird because Okaa looked way...smaller, somehow. I thought maybe she'd either given birth, had a miscarriage or just had a 'fake' pregnancy. I checked the cage and couldn't find a thing. No babies. I was thinking; "WTF? Did she shrink or something

!!! excitement about havin the behbeh's but ohhh i donno about the waiting! lol im terrible. this actually is bringing back bad memories about the fallen baby rat, it was my fault and i feel so so guilty still! (2 years ago!) ='(((

Mice eating their young is really quite a normal occurance, unfortunately. Their are many reasons why they do it. Sometimes they have too big a litter and know that if they try to feed all of the babies, they won't have enough milk and all the babies will grow up weak. So, mother nature buts in and says: 'Cull the weak to save the strong' and that's just how it goes. Other reasons include the mother feeling inadequte due to her surroundings stressing her out. This is why it's VERY important to keep her warm and safe and secluded.
