Don't forget the huge corporate interests that have most of the government in their pocket.

Give credit where credit is due.

In many cases, yes. And local politics often has more corruption, since there is never quite the spotlight on them that there is on the federal or state levels. The case that was decided had everything to do with corporate interests and more tax money for politicians to take and spend.

That's why such power over our lives should not be yielded to the goverment, and why the founding fathers sought to bind the goverment. But when you have 5 members of the Supreme Court neglecting their duty and oaths by making consitutional rulings based off of their personal opinions, rather than based on laws and the constitution and the obvious intent of them/it, this is the result.

I certainly hope we get a few more "originalist" judges in the next few years that can put their personal opinions asside and justify their rulings with the law.
