PART ONE After Jin finally left, Kazuya and Koki looked at each other, awkwardness surrounding them all of a sudden and silence falling over them for a few minutes. And when they decided to start talking, it was in the same time.
“I want -”
“Koki -”
Both friends burst into laughter at this and they hugged each other tightly. There wasn’t quite a need of words between them, but there was certainly a need of each other in their lives. When they had become so close, neither of them could really tell but now… they were here and they would support each other till the end. And their conversation from earlier seemed like it hadn’t even taken place, maybe, finally, Koki was starting to see what was happening with his friend. And no matter what, he will still not let go of the boy he was holding in his arms.
“Sorry.” Kazuya muttered against Koki’s shoulder, his voice raw and muffled.
“Don’t be.” The other replied and ruffled Kazuya’s hair. He always liked to let his fingers roam through the younger’s hair, it had a silky sensation those locks of his. “I should say sorry too.”
“You don’t have to, I was the one who did all those things, making you feel ashamed and grossed out for being my friend -” Kazuya began but was quickly interrupted by Koki who pushed him a little, just enough to stare into his eyes.
“Kazuya.” He said on a dead serious tone. “I am not ashamed of being your friend. Neither grossed out. What you did till now… it’s all in the past.” Koki squeezed the younger’s shoulder and Kazuya gave a quickly nod, he knew Koki needed to hear such a thing. “All you did created this wonderful person that you are and brought you to me.” He continued and there was a soft smile on his lips. “You might have your flaws, but you are a great person.” Koki added as he felt Kazuya wanted to protest at him being wonderful. “And I got to know you, got to be your friend and whatever you have done… won’t change this thing. So stop saying sorry for things that shouldn’t matter in our friendship.” He scolded the younger before trapping him once more in his arms as he saw the tears that swelled in his friend’s eyes.
“Thank you.” Kazuya croaked and held Koki tighter. “I thought that I had lost you forever… I thought you’d leave me alone like everybody else…” he continued to say through hiccups, crying and holding more onto Koki. “I was afraid to not talk with you anymore… I wanted to call you but I didn’t want to hear you say that you hate me and that I don’t matter anymore to you…”
“You stupid turtle.” Koki managed to say in the end and he once more held Kazuya at a arm’s distance, leaning his forehead against the younger’s. “I could never hate you. You might not realize it, but you have that something that makes people impossible to hate you. Especially those that got to know you a little more. So you could never make me hate you and not talk with you again. I’ll stand by you no matter how much time passes. Because you’ll always matter to me.”
Kazuya sobbed and looked at Koki through teary eyes. He cherished the friendship he had with the other and he dreaded losing it. It was one of the few things that mattered in his life and he’ll do anything not to lose it. And he really hoped Koki knew all this even if Kazuya had never said it.
“But… Kazuya.” Koki said and there was something different in his tone. “I want you to trust me. I want to help you, but I need you to trust me.” He continued and Kazuya knew what he meant. Koki wanted to know about Jin and his relationship with him.
“Right now…” The younger began and he wiped the tears away. “…there is no need for help. I am okay and what happened with college… well, I’m no longer thinking of it.”
“But it bothers you.” Koki noticed and Kazuya grimaced, not denying.
“Yes, it bothers me, yet I learned that sometimes, some things are meant to happen and maybe I had to experience this.” Kazuya shrugged and his friend stared.
“Did he -” Koki cleared his throat. “- he said that?”
“Jin didn’t say anything. He -”
“He’s not feeling guilty over what he did, right?” And the snappish tone of Koki startled Kazuya who blinked at him.
“I don’t think so, but it doesn’t matter. He said he could give it back to me if I want to.”
Koki gaped. “Kazuya, how can he do that? What’s the deal with him? Why are you still with him?” A shower of questions poured over Kazuya, making him realize that Koki had been holding back for a long time. “Is he your lover?” The last question had a bit of a sad edge to it and Kazuya touched Koki’s cheek.
“Yes, Jin is my lover.” The younger admitted and felt hurt seeing Koki’s disappointed expression. “At first, we weren’t… but now, I’ve been with him because I have feelings for him.” At this statement, Koki looked surprised.
“Y-you love him?” he asked silently.
“Yes.” Kazuya answered without hesitation. How easy had it become to admit to his feelings lately, it felt relieving. “I don’t understand how I brought myself to loving him, but I can’t call this feeling I have for him otherwise.” He sighed and looked a bit sad.
“So… you agree that your relationship is dysfunctional?” Koki asked and Kazuya laughed a bitter laugh.
“I knew it right from the start. His obsession for me, my addiction to drugs that slowly changed to him - all this I knew very clearly. Our relationship will always be dysfunctional because of our personalities.” Kazuya said and it made Koki think that there might be something else to what Kazuya was saying.
“Why are you with him, even knowing this? Is it only because of love?” Koki asked and from the way the younger smiled, he knew that there was another reason too - one as powerful as the one of love.
“I am grateful to him.” He replied and Koki feared that this might be, though for what reasons Kazuya was grateful to a person like Jin, it was beyond him. “He helped me get rid of my sick lifestyle, then he helped me with getting rid of drugs and lastly… he had helped me in facing my past and mother. It’s thanks to him that I can sleep peacefully now and I can look forward to another day without fearing that I might collapse because of an overdose.” Kazuya explained further and Koki couldn’t help but sigh.
“Are you sure you’re not confusing gratitude with love?” he dared to ask only to receive a glare from Kazuya.
“I am grateful to him, but my feelings of love for him are a different matter. While he had helped me greatly, I have also been abused by him…” Kazuya admitted and thought of all the times when Jin had hurt him, tried to destroy his life in order to have total control over him. “But I returned to him, I accepted him each and every time. Until I lost my control and did the same thing he did to me.”
“What?” Koki asked and there was an edge to his voice.
“I marked him as mine.” Kazuya looked down, thinking that it had happened in the same house, different room. “Don’t ask how, I won’t tell. But back then, there was a savage feeling in me, one that wanted to kill the man in front of my eyes for what he had done.”
Koki looked carefully at Kazuya and decided that he should ask. “What had he done?”
“He cheated on me and I saw.” Kazuya replied simply, almost as if this was a thing that didn’t bother him, though the displeased look he had on his face showed exactly the contraire.
Koki had nothing more to say. He felt like he had seen a new side of Kazuya, one that the younger had developed while he was with Jin and far away from him. And although it was scary seeing him like this, Koki knew that Kazuya was still the same. Another side to the cute and adorable ones that the younger had won’t change his mind and won’t make him distance himself from Kazuya.
“So… you love him and you’re grateful to him. Does he love you back?” Koki asked and Kazuya smiled.
“He’s said it even before we were together - that he loves me.”
“Do you believe him?”
“Yes. At first, I doubted him because of his obsession for me and the mood swings he seemed to have quite frequently. I thought he’ll get bored, but he didn’t. Each time he came for more and I had to give in to him.” Kazuya replied with a slight shrug.
“Mood swings? Obsession?” Koki shook his head in denial. “Kazuya, are you sure he’s in the right mental state?”
Kazuya laughed softly and he leaned against the headboard of the bed. “He’s not, but neither am I. In a way, we’re suited for each other.” He answered and looked at Koki carefully. “Can’t you get along with him?”
“Huh?” The other man looked taken aback. “Do you want us to get along?” he asked, looking incredulously at Kazuya.
“Why not? Both of you are important people in my life and I want you two to at least understand each other. I don’t want to think that if you’ll stumble into each other on the street, you’ll end up killing one another.” Kazuya grabbed Koki’s hands. “I love you both and I don’t want to lose neither one of you.” His brown eyes were pleading him and Koki knew that he couldn’t refuse the boy, not when he was looking at him as if he was his last hope.
“I can’t promise anything… but I’ll try.” Koki sighed and nodded at Kazuya who beamed and jumped in his arms, squealing happily.
“Thank you, you’re the best!” the younger said, swinging their bodies like a little child and making Koki laugh at this Kazuya whom he loved so much to see. Then Kazuya looked up and saw Jin standing in the door frame and looking back at them with an undecipherable expression. But the younger chose to ignore it and detached from Koki to go to the older, quickly pecking his lips. “Jin, you’re back.” He said fondly and Koki turned with a half serious, half friendly expression at them.
“Welcome back.” Koki said with a short nod of his head. He’ll try to befriend Jin for Kazuya’s sake. And this way he’ll keep a close watch on both of them and their strange relationship.
”Thanks.” Jin replied a little uncertain, looking at Koki like he had grown two heads and was spitting fire through his nose. He had wanted to make a scene yet again after finding them together and so close, but the fact that Koki had already tried to be nice with him… left him speechless. “Did I come back too early?” he then asked looking at Kazuya, though it was obvious that he had done this on purpose to be there when Koki would leave and not wanting to leave them alone for too long.
Kazuya beamed at both of them as he shook his head. “No, you’re just in time!” he chirped happily and Koki could tell that an idea was born inside that pretty head of his. He hoped it won’t bring him nightmares later. “We were just talking that it would be nice if we’d hang out some more. You can tell YamaPi? Yes, Yamapi!” Kazuya recalled and smiled at Jin before continuing. “You can tell him to come too and if you know anyone else, we can all go out and have some fun together~” he singsonged the last word and looked like he’ll soon start dancing. “How about it?” Kazuya asked as his eyes darted from Jin to Koki and vice versa.
“Pi?” Jin cocked an incredulous eyebrow as he looked at Kazuya. “You want me and the others to go out with you and Koki?” he asked again, just to be sure, because… it sounded crazy!! Jin was one thing and he could understand, but Yamapi was… Yamapi didn’t know Kazuya and wasn’t as willing to act differently with him and not treat him like a whore! Of course, he wouldn’t do that because Jin was there and he knew the consequences, but as for Koki… he had no chance. Especially if there were more of Jin’s friends.
Kazuya looked crestfallen. “It can’t be?” he asked with a trembling lip. “I only have Koki now… I can’t go out with only the two of you…” Kazuya sighed, looking like this was the worst prospect that could happen to him.
“Oi!” Koki called from the bed, throwing a glare at Kazuya who simply stuck his tongue at the other.
“But it’s true! You two will sulk beside me all night!” The younger pouted and crossed his hands at his chest before turning to look at Jin with puppy eyes.
The older sighed in defeat. “Okay, but I’ll call only Pi, alright?” he said with a tone that didn’t allow any refusal. “He can be Koki’s date.” Jin added with an innocent tone, not being able to help himself.
Koki narrowed his eyes at Jin. “If he’s a chick, then he can be my date.” He replied sweetly. “Or I’ll get Kazuya instead.” He added as innocently as Jin, making Kazuya quickly interfere.
“Don’t make jokes like this, Koki.” He laughed, side glancing at Jin.
“I’m glad you can catch on my jokes, Kazuya.” The man replied and threw a sneaky smile at Jin, having noticed the darkening of his expression. “And you have only this Pi?” Koki asked Jin, looking genuinely interested.
“If you can’t bring yourself a date, I’m sure I could find one for you.” Jin replied with a snarl as he stared at Koki, his arms crossed and his eyes a little annoyed. Seriously now, he had to know that it was easy to piss off Jin, especially if you were one of the millions humans that annoyed him just by existing.
Koki laughed softly. “It’s not about bringing a date, it’s about your friends. Also, it’d be better if we could have a night between guys and maybe this way you’ll get less annoyed at my presence in Kazuya’s life.” The man looked straight at Jin and smiled. Oh, he’ll even drink with the devil if he had to. After all, he had said he’ll do anything for Kazuya.
“Yeah, right.” Jin snorted, refraining to retort anything. “Can we talk?” he then said to Kazuya, looking only at the younger and implying that he wanted them to be alone.
Kazuya fidgeted a little and glanced at Koki who smiled and gave an understanding nod. “Give me a call, Kazuya, when you have all the details sorted out for this fate’s date.” Koki said as he climbed down from the bed, ruffling Kazuya’s hair as he passed by. “Talk with you later. Bye, Jin!” he waved a hand as he exited from the younger’s bedroom and soon after, the entrance door was heard.
Koki left and Kazuya turned pouting at Jin. “He was trying to be nice, you know?” he accused Jin, clearly displeased by his lover’s behavior. “I did say I wanted you to get along, didn’t I?” The younger sighed tiredly.
“I didn’t mean he has to leave!” Jin denied vehemently, though he wasn’t that displeased by this conclusion either. “I just wanted you to come with me to the kitchen to have a word with you.” He confessed with a little shrug.
“And pigs fly, Jin.” Kazuya shook his head. “Never mind, Koki is an understanding guy, he would have left in the end.” He sighed and went to sit down on the bed. “What is it that you want to talk about?” the younger asked and looked curious at Jin.
“Are you really sure about this?” the older asked with an uncertain expression, still hoping that Kazuya was kidding. “I mean… I can refrain myself from saying anything, but Pi is different. He won’t listen and won’t even try to act normal and to pretend that he’s something else. This could mean trouble for him.” Jin tried to make Kazuya understand and remember that he had never mixed work with pleasure. Well, only when it was convenient for him.
Kazuya frowned and blinked owlishly at Jin. “So… are you saying that he will be a complete asshole just because he knows what I’ve doing for drugs?” he arched an eyebrow, amazed that Jin had such acquaintances. “Is he the only one you hang out with?” Kazuya asked then, not waiting for Jin’s answer.
“He and the rest would be complete assholes just because that’s who they usually are.” Jin sighed tiredly, sitting down next to Kazuya and resting his head on the boy’s shoulder. “I’m one too if you don’t remember.” He added with a small voice.
Kazuya kept frowning and stared blankly at the wall in front of him. “Great…” he said with a curse following as his hand began to feel Jin’s face through ghostly touches. “I guess so much for my wonderful plan, huh?” he chuckled bitterly and sighed. “I’ll call Koki later to tell him that the date is unavailable.” Kazuya joked a little, though he was feeling a bit disappointed. After all, there will always be people who will hate and mock him for what he had done in the past. Not everyone was as understanding as Koki or as uncaring as Jin.
The older groaned. “Don’t do that.” He said as he looked up at Kazuya, not moving from his place because he didn’t want the boy to stop his caress. “I’ll work it out, one way or another.” He added with a small smile.
“No. If they will be assholes, I won’t let Koki assist all that.” Kazuya refused this time, thinking this was probably the best decision.
“I can make Pi listen to me even if I’m afraid of what he’ll ask me.” Jin confessed and shuddered as the words left his lips. “Don’t worry,” he added as he lifted his head to look into Kazuya’s eyes, “I’ll make sure that he acts nicely. As long as you’re fine with only him.” The older warned, not prepared to get into more trouble for that punk.
Kazuya’s expression softened at once as he turned his body to Jin and cupped his face with both hands. “Jin…” he said before he leaned and kiss those plump lips. “I don’t want you to do anything to please any of your friends if they can’t behave. And it’s not like we need to hang out right away.” He continued with an understanding voice. “It will be okay, we’ll have another chance later and maybe I’ll get myself some new and decent friends…” he shrugged nonchalantly though it was clear that he was hurt by the loss of Maru, Junno and Ueda ultimately.
“Only if you’re sure.” Jin smiled as he kissed Kazuya once again. He had to admit he wasn’t that disappointed that he didn’t need to spend a night out with Koki too and preferred to be hanging out only with Kazuya, though he knew that the younger must be aware of this by now. He had wanted to please his lover, but maybe it was for the best if they didn’t meet. “We can go out only the two of us and have fun and meet new people, just us.” The older proposed with an excited expression.
Kazuya laughed. “And if someone hits on me?” he arched an eyebrow, already knowing the answer Jin will give. Though he had to admit that it would be nice to hang out once more with Jin like he had done in the past.
“I won’t give them the chance to even come close to you if they have that kind of intentions.” Jin smirked playfully as he leaned over the boy and gently nibbled on his lips, his hands around Kazuya’s waist and keeping him close to his heart. “You’re mine.” He stated with a possessive tone as he stopped his teasing and kissed Kazuya, exploring his mouth with his tongue and going deeper with every thrust.
Kazuya closed his eyes and let Jin make love with his mouth, enjoying the kiss and losing himself in it. With a feeble resistance, he pushed Jin a bit, enough to stop their kiss, though their lips were still pressed against each other. “And what if someone hits on you?” the younger breathed and he caught Jin’s lower lip between his teeth and pulled a bit. There was a dangerous gleam in his brown eyes.
“Well, I don’t know.” Jin chuckled darkly. “It depends on how beautiful that someone is.” He said with a playful smirk, wanting to feel Kazuya as possessive as he already knew that the boy was.
Kazuya’s eyes darkened instantly and it showed no good. “Oh really?” he asked as he bit Jin’s lip more powerfully until he heard a soft whimper from the older. “Then… shall I scar you forever that no one beautiful would get close to you?” Kazuya chuckled as his hand slipped down on Jin’s chest and stopped where his letter - his mark - was.
“As long as you’re mine, I don’t care about anything else.” Jin breathed the words, closing his eyes and thinking with excitement at the day when Kazuya had showed him how much he wanted Jin to belong to him. The idea drove Jin crazy and he wanted to feel again the sensation that Kazuya would do anything to stop him from leaving, as he was sure by now that the younger knew Jin would do too. “I belong to you.” Jin repeated the words that he had said so many times, opening his eyes and staring into Kazuya’s brown orbs to show how serious he was and - well, horny.
Kazuya smiled happily. “I’m glad we agree on this.” He said and pulled Jin into a new kiss, showing him that even if Jin would ever change his mind, Kazuya would take care to change it back on how it was. After all he went through, after all their time together… he definitely won’t let Jin drift away from him. “Now shall we take care of little Jin who’s begging for attention?” Kazuya mumbled close to Jin’s lips, opening one eye lazily, the lust and passion visible in that liquid brown.
“You naughty little boy.” Jin chuckled against Kazuya’s lips, licking and nibbling on them to feel more of their taste. He moved slowly, his hands roaming on the younger’s back as Jin leaned more over him and forced him to lie down on the bed, Jin following him smirking and with an expression that betrayed his kinky thoughts. “But my naughty little boy yearns for you more than you’ll ever think.” He confessed with a devilish smile as he caught Kazuya’s lips into another kiss.
This thirst will never be satisfied, never be fulfilled. But then again, as long as Kazuya was there and Jin was also there, they’ll both not need anything else.
Just them.

Although paradise is something someone always craves for, in the end it turns out to be more torturing than hell itself. All was bliss in the first days when Kazuya didn’t have to go to college anymore, he and Jin spent great moments together - though mostly ended up in having sex - and never once had he gotten bored. But daily routine was slowly creeping its way inside Kazuya’s life and the younger had grown more restless and itchy in the last week since there were no more classes to attend.
Of course, he had become used to Jin’s presence in his life - Koki was busy with college, at least he had one - but even he could notice that Jin was acting all sweet and loving, except during sex when he’ll turn into a horny beast never getting enough of him, so that Kazuya won’t have to think about college and the lack of it. The younger realized that Jin was trying to fill the hole - figuratively speaking, literally he had done it too many times - inside Kazuya’s life that the withdrawal from college had left behind. But it wasn’t enough, not for Kazuya who had been spurting with life when he was outside, doing something, making his brain load with information and itch when it wanted more. And now… now he was living a dull life - sparked only by the moments when he and Jin would bicker and then have rough or slow sex - and nothing could make him feel livelier like before.
He didn’t even have friends - let aside Koki - and there was no one to hang out with, though he had gone with Jin outside for a couple of times, in the end preferring the intimacy of their house as there would be moments when Jin or Kazuya suddenly felt aroused and needed to release the accumulated stress. Yet again, not even this was enough for the younger’s boring life. He was cringing at the mere thought of having to spend another day without doing a single fucking thing.
And out of bore, he was surfing the internet, clicking sites randomly and reading half of pages before giving up and search another thing. And out of mistake he had come over an announcement, sparking for the first time Kazuya’s interest. Seeing that he was bored to hell and there was nothing else more interesting to do than sex, he decided to apply and see what comes out. And maybe he’ll really get to do something or if not, he’ll look for something else. Yes! This was an option too, he could practice, he would feel life pumping through his veins again, his brain will once more explode with information! Oh, yeah, Kazuya was definitely excited about that announcement.
But only four days later, did the younger find out what had come of his excitement and when he received a call and telling him that he had been accepted for an interview, Kazuya could barely contain his joy and began to hop through his room after he ended the call. His eyes were sparkling and he couldn’t wait to see what it felt like to go back into life, to reenact himself into society. But something broke his bubble of happiness as Kazuya remembered Jin.
“Oh. I haven’t told him.” He said out loud and looked at the clock, knowing that the older would come to his house at seven. And now it was six. Kazuya had exactly an hour to think of what he should say to Jin and why Jin wouldn’t agree to this and how he should counter his denial.
He had one hour. One hour that seemed to pass in the blink of an eye as Kazuya heard the door being unlocked and Jin stepping in, grinning happily as he strolled to the kitchen where he heard noises that indicated the presence of the younger.
“Kazuuu…” Jin immediately started to complain as he walked to the boy, pecking his lips and letting the younger hug him to his chest.
The boy smiled and looked calm though his heart began to beat erratically as he thought that he had to tell Jin what he’ll be doing tomorrow and if lucky, from tomorrow onwards. “Hey, babe.” Kazuya said and caressed Jin’s back. “Something happened?”
“Pi was being mean with me again…” the older whined like a child, thought the correct answer would have been ‘Pi forced me to do some extra job because I would have been earlier home and he had made me organize some stupid papers that I totally hate doing’. It had become a pattern of this happening every day when Jin came to visit Kazuya and the older would never refuse an opportunity to be pampered by his lover.
Kazuya chuckled low. “Pi is like that, forgive him.” He said as he pushed Jin a little from him, just enough to stare in his eyes. “And he’s just jealous that he doesn’t have someone to welcome him back when he goes home.” The younger winked and smiled at Jin. “Now shush and have a seat. Dinner’s ready~” he added with a cast kiss on Jin’s lips, quickly going to the stove and turning off the fire.
It seemed that Jin didn’t need anything more than that as he just grinned happily again and sat at the table, waiting anxiously for the food to be served and Kazuya to join him. He continued to talk through their dinner though, babbling about what he had had to do that day and skillfully avoiding giving any details about his work, still not wanting to involve Kazuya into more dangerous stuff than he was already. He finished the food in record time, the smile still on his lips as he looked back at Kazuya and waited for the younger to finish too so that they could go to bed or do something else.
But Kazuya had other things on mind and it definitely wasn’t sex. He cleaned up the table and put all the dishes in the washing machine, worry written all over his face. His back was facing Jin so the older could not see what kind of inner turmoil was taking place inside of Kazuya. But this didn’t take long as the younger took a deep breath and turned to his lover, his hands gripping the counter. “Jin… I have to tell you something.” Kazuya said and bit onto his lower lip, looking concerned.
This doesn’t look well, Jin thought when his eyes met Kazuya’s and he saw the worry in them. “What happened?” he asked with a low and serious voice, prepared to hear another stupid thing that would cause a fight between him and Kazuya. After all, it had been a while since the last time and Jin knew that things were too good to last.
Kazuya gulped and stared back at Jin, silent for a couple of minutes. “I’ve got a job interview.” He said and looked like there had been a weight over his heart and now it had been lifted.
“A job interview?” Jin raised an eyebrow, looking inquiringly at his lover as he sat up and walked to him.
Kazuya nodded fervently and although he should better hide the happiness in his eyes, he couldn’t. “Oh, Jin, it isn’t much! I just applied on the net and they called me today to tell me to go tomorrow at an interview! Just think - I’ll be able to work, to actually do something than to sit around all day!” he said excitedly, trying to make Jin see the bright side of things. “Isn’t it wonderful?” Kazuya radiated with happiness.
“And why aren’t you happy with how things are now?” Jin wanted to know, not convinced that this was such a great idea.
Kazuya’s happy face deflated as a balloon. Jin had to have objections. “And why would I be?” he asked with a tired voice. “I don’t do anything except sitting here and waiting for you to come back home. I want to live, Jin, not to stay in the house and wait and bore myself to death!” He said and it could be heard that twinge of despair in his voice.
“And you really want to work?” Jin asked again, wanting to be sure that Kazuya was in his right mind when he was asking this. Well, it wasn’t really a problem, but he couldn’t understand why didn’t Kazuya want to just sit home and wait for him. If he started working, then things would become difficult again and they would see less of each other. And if this would end up like college did… he didn’t even want to think about it.
Kazuya nodded fervently again. “They have the same schedule as you usually have. This way we can see each other as usual… though I’ll be working during weekends too.” He looked down, glancing at Jin from time to time.
“Yeah, right.” Jin snorted, somehow feeling a little annoyed. Kazuya knew perfectly well that Jin’s schedule wasn’t always the same and it could change in a blink of an eye. Of course, he had never told the younger that Jin had enforced a program to be able to be with his lover more time but he didn’t think this would lead to… this! Besides, weekends too?
It won’t last, Jin was already sure. “What kind of job?” he then asked, not wanting to destroy Kazuya’s happiness this easily but feeling like he had no choice but to do so.
“A waiter!” Kazuya declared happily, like this was his life’s dream since he was young.
“A waiter?” Jin cocked an eyebrow, looking incredulously at Kazuya. “You want to be a waiter?” he laughed, thinking that the younger was pulling his leg.
Kazuya bristled quickly, looking hurt. “And what’s wrong with being a waiter? This way I can get to see different people and can know about their lifestyles through their choices. Being a waiter implies a bit of psychology too!” he lifted his chin defiantly as his eyes were determined and showed that being a waiter was no shame.
“I have nothing against being a waiter.” Jin tried to stop laughing, raising his hands in defense. “I think it’s a fine job.” He added with a smirk, already picturing Kazuya with that costume and serving his table, doing everything Jin asked him to.
And Kazuya saw right through him. “You’re imagining it wrong, Jin.” He sighed and pouted a little. “I really need to do something, even if it’s a host.” He added with a vehement look on his face, barely realizing that hosts worked in the domain of pleasing women.
“A host?” Jin asked immediately, now the laughter gone from his voice as he crossed his arms and looked at Kazuya with a look that said you-have-got-to-be-kidding-me.
The younger looked puzzled before realizing his mistake and smiling silly. “No, I didn’t mean it like that.” He chuckled softly, his eyes squinting a bit. “I wanted to say that I’ll do anything if it gets me out of this boring routine.” He proceeded to explain, gesticulating a lot, though still not completely clarifying the host-thing.
Jin just sighed. “At what time do you have the interview?’ he asked with a blank voice.
“At two o’clock.” Kazuya chirped happily, smiling nonstop. “I hope they’ll hire me, it will be my first real job! Oh, Jin, I’m so excited!” The younger continued to say and soon you could see him hopping from joy.
Jin rolled his eyes, refraining to say that he hadn’t really agreed to this nonsense yet. But he chose to shut up this time and just turned his back on Kazuya, waving at the boy and muttering that he’ll be driving him tomorrow to the interview before leaving the kitchen, not waiting for an answer and not accepting a refusal.
*
When morning came, Kazuya was more than awake and looked all excited while Jin slept his way through. The younger looked at the peaceful and sleeping form that was his lover and smiled adoringly. He had realized last night what thoughts were running through his mind and although he had no mean to say that everything will be okay, Kazuya will do his best not to make things repeat in the same way that it happened with college. He had finally come to fully realize and accept that Jin was no different from the rest of people in his life and that in a way or another, he’ll have to submit to his will, be it through force or through love and care. All the freedom and dreams he had had from childhood were nothing but simple illusions. Kazuya knew all this and had finally accepted it as it came.
Because he loved Jin and Jin loved him.
And that’s why he was going to do everything he could that this time he won’t fail and would show Jin that everything could be like this too. A job was something wonderful for Kazuya and the fact that he would work to earn money - his money - was more than appealing and great to him. That’s why, no matter what, he wasn’t going to let Jin take away this too. He’ll do anything to have the job and Jin too. He won’t lose again like he had lost college. This was a promise to himself.
Too bad, the promises Kazuya made, somehow, ended up broken.
Time flew and Jin woke up, looking still displeased with the job thing, but still supporting Kazuya and the younger didn’t need anything more. He was happy and excited enough to ignore the moodiness of his lover, that was why he was making a total mess through his closet in search of something fit for his first job. Of course, he had dragged Jin into this too as he soon began to cat walk his ass through the living - it was bigger to strut - dressed in different outfits, some making Jin grunt in displeasure. Kazuya knew already that it was because of his hotness.
But when his eyes fell on the clock, the younger squeaked and hurried Jin to the door - Kazuya had dressed him first - and he went for another check in the mirror - though the other outfit had looked better on him - but there was no time to waste, so he passed a hand through his hair and hurried to accompany Jin who rolled his eyes at the diva that was his boyfriend. Once in the car, the younger was practically buzzed. He was talking nonstop, telling Jin how wonderful everything will be, how nervous he felt and how everything still seemed a dream. Of course, he told the older about his insecurities, about how he might have a momentary lapse and fear that they will dismiss him because of this, but then he realized he sounded silly and turned the subject to his clothes - it was better to complain about this than about his insecure self.
And by the time they got there, Kazuya had finally fallen silent as dread swept over him. The younger looked at the restaurant in front of them and somehow he found it a bit impressive and suffocating in the same time. What if he didn’t make it? What if they would throw him outside - though no one did this lately? Kazuya was worried to death and he was even scared to get out of the car.
“You’ll be fine.” He heard Jin and Kazuya turned with big and round eyes at the older. “Don’t give me that look. It’s just a job, you’ll do just fine.” Jin continued and smiled a little, just enough to encourage the younger; he still wasn’t agreeing to this job-thing, but as long as it made his lover happy, Jin thought that he could live with it. He would just have to get used to other things and maybe to change his schedule a little so that he could still spend time with Kazuya. In the end, time will be the one to say if this had been a wise decision or the worst of their life. “Come here.” Jin added with a sigh, seeing that Kazuya was still puppy and teary eyed.
The younger leaned towards Jin and the older grabbed him by the nape, crushing their mouths together, passionately ravishing the other’s lips. And by the time he ended their kiss, Kazuya had forgotten all but Jin and the kiss he had given him. The older smirked at his lover and ushered him out from the car, chuckling a little when he saw Kazuya look back longingly. Really, this boyfriend of his was going to kill him one day, Jin thought as he ushered the boy away with a wave of his hand, smiling contently when he saw him heading towards the entrance and towards what might be the next stage of his life.
After almost an hour, Kazuya came out beaming and almost hopping. As he slipped into the car next to Jin, there was no need for words - his expression spoke for it. And the unexpected kiss that followed.
Kazuya got the job.
