I'm totally up for that. Honestly, I'd send you a ton for free if I wasn't so damn broke. If you want to slide a few dollars my way, I can scope out the thrift store this week for another big sweater or two (how many would you want?)
The super awesomeness of doing it this way is that you pre-shrink the sweater in the washer and dryer before making them, so then you can just throw them in the washer and dryer afterwards, instead of having to hand wash them all the time.
The pattern I used comes in preemie, newborn, small, medium, large, etc. Do you know what size I should make for you? For myself I made the mediums, since P was 10 pounds by the time she was 2 weeks old. Do you want newborn size?
The medium is a big medium, it's like 12-20ish pounds, I think. I could send you the mediums first, and you could tell me from there if you want more in a size down or a size up? It's easier to find colored sweaters than undyed ones, so let me know what kinds of colors you'd prefer. I guess we'll know by tomorrow whether you want all pink or not. :p I think $10 would be plenty for materials and shipping and everything for 5 or 6 of them. Does that sound cool? If the shipping and sweaters wind up being way cheaper, I can send you back the difference.
i need to learn to knit... i have sorta learned a few times, but it doesn't stick in my brain... yet. i am determined though... although with pregnancy brain we'll see... ;o) do you know of any patterns (online or otherwise) for little baby leg warmer things?
oh wow, that's fantastic! i was wondering how you took apart a sweater to knit them! haha sounds silly now that i say it. what an awesome idea! thanks for the links too
