If bodies are but mere vehicles for the soul, and the brain, storage for all the memories kept; when my carrier breaks down, only the sensory of my receptor dies, the memories lost and left to decay, is the evidence of my remains to time.

My spirit remains intact.

i would argue that the body is here, but that humanity has a long way to go before we earn any kind of spirit. but then again, i would probably respond differently if i wasnt in such a pessimistic mood :)

Well, if one assumes, for the purpose of this argument, that spirits do indeed exist, unless you believe in reincarnation or some "heavenly spirit repository" where bodyless spirits hover waiting to dive into some unsuspecting newborn, the only possibility is that spirit and body are conceived simultaneously......I've always said sex was deeply spiritual ;).
