Percy is, admittedly, rather nervous--but that is beside the point, certainly beside the point; to-day his ruffly red hair is combed down neatly and he's wearing his best clothes, a white linen tunic and trousers that are usually only for high holy days, but this is as important as any of those--important. She's procured a ring to give him, heaven knows where. She isn't telling, certainly, but it's a very simple gold band with a dragon etched in it, chasing his tail. Her hair is, for this very special occasion, down, falling in shining black waves well past her waist, and her gown is plain but clean and white in contrast. She wears a small gold circlet because it's pretty, not for rank.

And she smiles, and that makes all the difference.

Gawain has a book of common prayer - unfortunately, it's a recent book of common prayer, and he's therefore inclined to consider the liturgy rather odd.

Oh well, he'll improvise. He smiles at Cimorene. "You look very well," he says.

Percy is holding her hand already--probably not lucky, or proper, but there you are. He just beams.

She rolls her eyes a bit, though the smile doesn't budge. "Well, compared to the one other time you've seen me, probably yes. Thank you."

Heli, with the blithe imperiousness that is a sister's right, twitches Percy's tunic a tiny, tiny bit straighter. "There!"

He blushes anxiously. "It's all right? Is it all right?"

"Better than!" And she leans in to kiss his cheek.

"Thanks!" He snuggles her. "Thanks."

Haynes is standing nervously off to one side. He hasn't said a word to anyone yet, but has managed skittish smiles at anyone who looks his way, and that's -- something, at least, more than could have been expected when he came to the mansion. He's even managed to dig up some presentable clothing for the occasion, trading his usual worn sweater and khaki trousers for a suit that looks wrong and awkward on him despite being near perfectly fitted.

It's an effort, and for Haynes, a big one.

And Cimorene appreciates it. She comes over during the subsequent mingling, bringing him a serving of cherries jubilee. "Here you are. I fully expect to have to run back to the kitchen to make more, as I really needed an entire batch per knight, but this is warm, at least."

Gareth, who is not as late as his typist is, is positively beaming. He, like Percy, is all tidied up, as one might expect of a wedding dress. It lends him an air of-- well, if introduced as noble, one might be more inclined to actually believe that someone so small and smiley comes from some royal family somewhere. But he absolutely cannot wait to offer his congratulations.

Percy sees him and waves and hurries over. "Hi! How're you doin'?"

He laughs. "How're you?"
