Playground, Chapter 1

“Do we have to….?” Reid groaned and slumped down to the bed. Morgan carried their bags to the hotel room.

“Yeah, we do. This is the rehearsal night.”
“Rehearsal night?”
“Tonight we’ll have couple beers and have fun. Tomorrow we’ll go see strippers, and get so drunk we throw up in the car.”
“And what do we do on Sunday?”
“That’s the day for rest. We’ll curse our hang-over’s and vow never to do that again.”
“But do I have to?”
“If you don’t go out with us, I’ll feel too guilty about going without you,  that I won’t have any fun.”
“Too bad for you.” Reid pulled his arms under his head and smirked. “I’m not moving.”

“Come on…..”
“I couldn’t sleep on the flight because of you, I want to rest.”
“I didn’t do anything.”
“You flirted with the steward, so I had to keep my eyes open. Your fault.”
“I didn’t flirt with him!”
“So he just accidentally poured a can of Coke on your lap and then offered to wipe it off?”
“I didn’t encourage him! And I told him I didn’t need his help!”
“Fine, but I still don’t want to go out. We’re going to see your buddies tomorrow anyway, can’t we just spend the night alone?”

Morgan thought about it for a minute. Then he laid down on the bed next to Reid and grinned.
“Make me an offer I can’t refuse.”
“We could go downstairs to the hotel restaurant, eat and then come back here….”
“And?”
“And I’ll pour a can of Coke on your pants.”
“Will you wipe it off for me?”
“Yeah.”
“You convinced me. Can we go to the casino too?”
“You’re not going anywhere near casinos. Remember what happened when we were in Las Vegas.”
“I was just playing with slot machines!”

“You were out of control. We’ll go downstairs, eat, come back and try the hot tub.”
“We have a hot tub?”
“I checked it when we came in.”
“Where was I….. oh right. Dragging your bags from the elevator.”
“You wanted to act like a gentleman.”
“I didn’t know you would dump all of them on me.”
“Keep talking and your chances of after dinner entertainment keeps diminishing.”
“I’ll shut up.”

“So, let’s see if I got this right.” Chad leaned back against the backrest. The Irish pub was almost empty and the waitresses were already cleaning the tables. “Your wife left you and you developed a crush on someone you’ve known for a long time and that person is taken.”
“That’s pretty much it.” Hotch groaned. He had downed three large pints during the evening, and he felt nicely buzzed.
“One question.”
“What?”
“You never said She or He. Just a person. Which one is it?”

Hothc didn’t answer. He just stared at the bottom of his pint.

“Hey, you’re among friends. You know about Spencer and me, I’m not gonna judge.”
“It’s a He. And he’s dating another He, who I’ve known for a long time.”
“Is it a new thing? Generally speaking.”
“What do you mean?”
“Was your marriage real?”
“Of course it was! We even have a kid!”
“I didn’t mean it like that. I just meant that you haven’t had any feelings for men before this.”
“No, I….. I never even thought about the possibility. And then…. When that crush started, I couldn’t focus on anyone else.”

“Did you try?”
“Once.” Hotch was genually surprised he could still blush. “It was a really quick thing, in and out, over in ten minutes. I’m not sure if you can even call it sex.”
“Was it a rebound thing or was there lust?”
“No lust. He just looked the part.”
“He looked like your crush?”
“Yeah.”
“I did that too when Reid and I broke up.”
“Why did you two break up?” Hotch asked curiously.
“Reid’s unique. And I don’t mean just the genius thing. The weird thing is that he doesn’t even realise that. He needs someone who remembers to tell him that. I didn’t figure it out until it was too late.” Chad paused. “But back to you. What are you gonna do?”
“I don’t know. Wait, I guess.”
“Let me ask you a question. Think about doing stuff with a man. Someone else than you crush. Is it still something you wanna do?”

Hotch tried to picture it. “Yeah, but…. I don’t know. I still like women, that hasn’t gone anywhere.”
“You don’t need to pick sides. But if you can feel something for a man in general, it’s not just about that one particular guy. And that means you can get over it and find somebody else. It will just take time.”
“So what do I do in the meantime?”

“See if you can find someone else who makes you tick.” Chad gave him a crooked grin and leaned closer. "Experiment."

“With who?” Hotch couldn’t keep the tiny smirk off his face. The situation was absurd, but right now a half-drunken one night stand sounded pretty tempting.
“I’m a very good teacher. Are you interested?”
“You’re direct….. Do you always do that when you want to take somebody to your bed?”
“Yeah. I don’t mislead people. I’m not looking for anything serious, or some big romance.”
“So what are you offering?”
“Great sex and some fun.”

---------------------------------------------------

“Mmmmmm…..” Reid moaned. Warm, bubbly water was doing wonders to the exhausted limbs.

“Was that one for the bubbles or for me?” Morgan grinned and pressed his fingers on the arch of Reid’s foot. On the other end of the tub Reid kept moaning.
“Both.”
“But mainly me.”
“I told you this would be fun, little bit to the left…..”
“If I had known you moan like that when I rub your feet, I would have done this a long time ago. You look like you’ve lost all your bones.”
“You just like it when I’m putty in your hands.”
“Yep.”

Reid opened his eyes and gave him a suspicious look.
“Why do you have to send me those non-verbal messages when you could just say it?”
“What messages?”
“Have you noticed where my other foot is?”
Morgan looked down. The layer of bubbles was moving. He could feel Reid’s foot rubbing against his hardness.
“Okay, I’ll say it. Wanna get out of the tub?”
