Criminal Minds Main List Sibling Rivalry “Let me guess…..” Chad snapped the TV on mute, and turned to face Hotch, who had just slumped down on the couch. “Sean called?”
“How did you know?”
“You got that awkward look every time he calls. Is he still offering you a threesome?”
“It’s not me who he’s offering it to. He wants to experiment and he just decided that he wants to experiment with you. When he gets an idea he just hangs on to it, no matter what you say.” Hotch took a deep breath. “You don’t want to do it, right?”
“Right.”
“Good.”
“If I was free I probably would, but that’s not the case.”
“Good.” Hotch repeated. “I don’t know what to do with him.”
“That’s easy. Set him up with somebody else.”
“I know my brother. If he has decided he wants you, he doesn’t settle.”
“Actually…. I got an idea about that.” Chad grinned. “Remember when I said my little brother looks just like me?”
“You’re not going to suggest….?”
“I was just thinking that we could give them a little push to the right direction. If they don’t like each other, we can figure out something else.”
“I thought you said he wasn’t even in the country.”
“He’s coming back from Iraq two weeks from now, he was supposed to come and stay with me for couple weeks before his next assignment.”
“What was he doing in Iraq?”
“He’s a journalist. Anyway, my place is pretty small, so we could offer him your guest room…..”
“I think I know where this is going…..”
“Look, if I’m the kinda guy your brother likes, he should like my brother too.” Chad pulled his wallet from his pocket and took out few photographs. Hotch took the first picture where Chad and his brother were posing side by side. He got up and went to the bookshelf.
“What are you doing?”
Hotch pulled out a photo album and skipped to a groups shot of the BAU team. He placed the wallet picture next to it.
“This is ridiculous…..”
“What is?”
“You, Morgan and your brother. I`m starting to think you were all separated at birth.”
“So your bro should be happy. And if they don’t hit it off he’ll be gone in few weeks anyway.”
“I’m still not too comfortable with the whole idea.” Hotch closed the album and gave the picture back to Chad. “What’s his name? I can’t remember.”
“Cain.”
“Cain? Like the one who killed his brother?”
“Yep. My grandma was really religious and she had a lot of fights with mom about the kids names. Mom named me Zachary, and grandma thought it was too modern.”
“Zachary?”
“Yeah, when I was learning to speak it was too tough for me to say, it always sounded like Chad, and it just kinda stuck. Anyway, when Cain was born my grandma insisted he must have a biblical name. So mom picked Cain just to annoy her.”
“You mother sounds like she’s quite a character.” Hotch chuckled.
“She is. So do we agree about this?”
“Are you going to tell your brother about your plans?”
“Not until he’s here and can’t escape.”
“What’s he like?”
“Smart, adventurous, black belt in karate, pretty much like his brother in all aspects.”
“Sean’s pretty reckless sometimes, you better hope they’ll get along.”
“Trust me, my baby brother can give your brother a run for his money.”
“Think so?”
“And if Sean gets too out of control, he can kick his ass.”
“That’s a really comforting thought.” Hotch deadpanned.
“I thought so too.” Chad lifted his coffee mug to make a toast and Hotch followed his gesture. “To our brothers. May they be happy and fuck like rabbits, or we’ll have to lock yours to the basement.”
