Written as an answer to Chymoms challenge, and uses lines
from Uncertainty Principle:
Don: Please don’t do this.
Charlie: Don’t do what? You don’t even know what it is that I am doing.
Don: Actually I do. The thing is I don’t think that you do.

------------------------------------------------------------

“Let’s see if I got this right…” Ian was leaning against David on the living room
couch, and stretched himself like a graceful cat. “You’re dating a guy who used
to date your little brother.”

“Yes, and both of them refuse to tell me about it.” Don’s statement was followed
by a combination of frustrated snort and amused chuckle.

Colby laughed at his expression. “You should raid his memorabilia box. He’s kept
memories of all his old flames.”
“Really?” Don fixed a firm gaze on Colby. “Where?”
“I’m not sure if I should tell you….”
“I’m your boss.”
“And your brother can be really scary when he wants to be.”
“Granger.” Don grovelled the name in a warning tone.
“Fine.” Colby glanced quickly to the kitchen door. “Cardboard box, bedroom
closet, top shelf.”

“Okay, who wants a refill?” Charlie returned from the kitchen with a new bottle
of wine. He spotted the uncomfortable look on Colby’s face. “What’s going on here?”
“Colby was telling us about your memorabilia box.” Martin explained from his
seat on the stuffed armchair. “The one in your top shelf.”

Charlie stared at Colby, looking totally stunned. “You didn’t…..”
“He did.” Don grinned and jumped up from his chair. Before anyone could react,
he run up the stairs.

“Don! Don’t you dare!” Charlie run after him. Everyone could hear steps from
upstairs, some screaming and few minutes later, Don run down to the living room
carrying a cardboard box. When Charlie followed, he escaped to the kitchen and
slammed the door shut.

“Don! Open the door!” Charlie banged on the door. “How the hell can an old
guy run so fast…”
“I’m not old!” Don yelled through the door. “I just wanna see what you were
doing when I was away.”
“Don, you don’t need to see them. Just stop this.”
“This gotta be juicy if you’re panicking about this!”
”Please don’t do this.”
”Don’t do what?” Don teased in a sing-a-song voice. ”You don’t even know what
it is that I am doing.”
”Actually I do.” Charlie sighed. ”The thing is I don’t think that you do.” He
turned to look at the people in his living room, who were observing everything
like it was a piece of real life sitcom. ”I think this is gonna turn ugly very
soon….”

Right after he had said that, they heard a thump from the kitchen, accompanied
by a muffled gasp.

"And there`s the turn...."

Don opened the door and walked to the living room holding a photograph in his
hand. “Chuck…. Is this who I think it is?”

Charlie gulped. “That depends. Who do you think it is?”
“You know who I mean!” Don exclaimed. “Sally Simons!”

“Well… Yeah, it is.” Charlie admitted.
“Show me.” Colby snatched the picture from Don, and retreated to the couch to
show it to David and Ian. In the picture Charlie was sitting in restaurant with a
pretty brunette. “So what’s the big deal?”

“It’s Sally Simons!” Don agonized. “When the hell did you have anything to do with her?”
“Maybe five years ago. I was lecturing on the East Coast, and she was there and… you know.”
“And you never told me!”
“Would it make you feel any better if I told you she wasn’t that good in bed?”
“No, it wouldn’t! It’s Sally Simons!”

“We already heard that.” Ian interrupted. What’s so special about her? Don’t tell
me there’s another trophee who went from one brother to the other.”
“Not exactly….” Charlie answered carefully. “She was Don’s big high school crush.”

“Awwww…. isn’t that sweet.” Martin giggled.
“You want me to tell them the rest of the story?” Charlie asked. He was now
eyeing Don with a little glint in his eyes.
“Please don’t…” Don groaned.
“Donnie here tried to ask her out for two years, and then finally he did it.” Charlie
paused. “And she said no. But now comes the best part. Apparently just verbal answer
wasn’t sufficient, so she dumped a can of coke on him in the middle of the hallway.
The whole school saw it.”

“Did you really have to tell them?” Don accused.
“You’re the one who brought it up.” Charlie grinned.
“I guess.”
“You want some more shocks? I’m not sure if your old ticker could take it…”
“No! No more surprises. Please.”
“Then stay away from my closet.”
“I will! But… Chuck?”
“What?”
“Is there any more familiar faces in that box?”
“I don’t kiss and tell.” Charlie grinned. He picked up the box from the floor
and closed it.

“Some things are better kept secret.” David agreed and lifted his glass to make
a toast. “How bout…. To old bed mates, may they rest in peace in the closet.”
“Good idea.” Colby agreed and raised his glass.
“And if they come back to haunt, they better watch out.” Ian smirked, drawing his
fingers over David’s belly.

“Exactly.” Charlie put his hand around Don’s shoulder. “I saw Sally again last
year, and I gotta tell you…. You should be happy she didn’t say yes.”
“What do you mean?” Don wondered.
“She has three screaming kids now, and she’s now as wide as she is tall.”

“I’ll drink to that.” Don smirked. He grabbed the full bottle from the table and
took a big gulp from it.
