“Are you serious?”

“Yeah. What’s wrong with that?” Don asked and placed the painting on the
kitchen table. “I got it as a graduation gift from aunt Irene.”
“You hate her.”
“I do, but the painting’s not that awful. She painted it herself.”
“Let’s recap, shall we?” Martin sighed. “Your aunt Irene is around...
two hundred?"
“Something like that.”
“And she’s also a bitter old spinster, who loves to terrorise her relatives
to make up for the emptiness that is her life.”
“Yep.”
“So would you mind telling me why she spends her free time painting semi-
rude pictures of naked people.”
Don shrugged. “She says it’s classical style.”

“It’s ugly as hell. When we get to Christmas, we should do a favour for
humanity and buy her a gigolo.”
“You think a roll in the hay with a hot guy would solve her problems?”
“It solved yours, didn’t it?” Martin grinned.
“Well…. Most of them.” Don chuckled. “So where do we put the painting?”
“To the closet. Under all the other stuff I never want  to see again.”
“Okay, I can compromise. Did you clean some closet space for my clothes?”
“Yeah, those two on the left.”
“I don’t think I even got that much clothes.”

“And you will have a lot less when I’m done….” Martin mused as he picked
up Don’s clothes from the moving box, one by one.
“What wrong with my clothes?”

“You want an example?” Martin pulled an old pair of jeans from the box.
“When was the last time you actually fit into these?”

“In high school….”
“And why are you still keeping them? Are you hoping that someday when you’re
old and withered you’ll get into these again?”
“No….”
“Just because you’ve had some good times in them doesn’t mean you have
to keep them for the rest of you life.”
“Yeah, yeah….”
“You got clothes that actually fit you, so don’t look like that.”
“I got a lot of good memories from high school. I got those jeans on when I
got to the second base for the first time.”

Martin pulled out another pair of jeans. “You had these on when I let you
make a home run for the first time. Remember?”
“I remember, but how do you remember that?”
“You looked so good in them.” Martin grinned. “I had to move my chair so
I could get a good look at you. Megan was sitting right in front of you.”
“And I was wondering why you kept looking at me.”
“You seriously didn’t have any idea?”
“No, Megan said there was a nice looking guy looking at us.”

Martin chuckled. “Good thing I made the first move, or we would be total
strangers now.”
“Hey, that was totally new territory to me, I had never been hit on by a guy.
Except once.”
“Tell me.”
“When I was still playing baseball. We had one of those friendship matches
and he came to me after the match and….”
“And?”
“And offered me some more friendship in the supply closet.”
“What did you say?”
“Nothing, I got out of there as soon as I could.”
“So why didn’t you run when I came on to you?”
Don shrugged. “I was older and I had recently noticed that there’s other
alternatives to women and….” He turned bright red. “You made an offer I
couldn’t refuse, okay?”
“Good boy. What about turtlenecks?”
“What?”
“Your turtlenecks. I’ve never seen you wear them, not once.”
“I wanna keep them in case I end up in a cold climate.”
“During the time I’ve known you, we’ve been to New Mexico and San Diego.
Neither one of those fit the description.”
“Fine, I’ll get rid of those. But my wardrobe is getting pretty small if you’re
gonna go trough all of it like that.”
“If you need new shirts we can go shopping together.”
“And you can play Sugar Daddy? Again…” Don grinned.
“You’re four months older than me, so cut the “Daddying”. And I like to buy
you clothes, so what?”
“You made me model them for you in the fitting booth.”
“You liked it!”
“I did. Especially when we were selecting boxers.”
“I let you keep the curtain closed. They wouldn’t have even noticed if you
hadn’t been so loud.”
“Your fault, you kept doing that thing with your tongue-”
“The only reason they let us get away with it was the fact that I’m a regular
customer.”
“How often do you take your boyfriends there?”
“You were the first one, and isn’t that a weird expression?”
“What?”
“Boyfriend. Aren’t we little bit too old for that? We haven’t been boys for years.”
“So…. Manfriend? That sounds weird too.”

Marin grinned and took a set closer, wrapping his arms around Don’s
waist. “How bout…. Lover?”
“I like it.” Don agreed. He glanced down to the moving boxes. “You want me
to put on fashion show now? I still got three boxes unpacked.”
“We don’t have a fitting booth….” Martin teased.
“We could go to the closet and close the door.”
“Okay….. Let’s start with the  underwear box.”
