Past Record, Chapter 1 “Come on, open the door.” Morgan complained. “You’ve been in there for two hours.”
“Then you really should get the message.” Reid’s voice echoed from the bedroom.
“Listen to me. For the last time: I haven’t called any of those women during the time we’ve been together.”
“Then why do you keep it? As a plan B, in case we break up?”
“No, I-”
“And why did you mark some of those names with a gold star sticker?”
“They are…. commendations?”
“I guess I should be surprised you didn’t give them all diplomas.” Reid pulled the door open and stalked to the hallway. “I can’t believe I actually felt guilty for having two ex`s in my cell phone. I didn’t even occur to me that your list is just one step away from a phone book.”
“Wait a minute. You keep their numbers?” Morgan looked sincerely shocked.
“Two numbers, Morgan. Not thirty-two.”
“What’s the difference? You’re still doing exactly the same thing.”
“I keep their numbers because we’re still friends. You keep your old flames numbers in case you want to hook up with them again.”
“I don’t-”
“And who organises their notebook geographically? Obviously someone who waits till he hears where we are going, and then checks out which one of his cheap bimbos is in the area.”
“Cheap bimbos?” Morgan couldn’t help grinning. “Being angry really suits you.”
“What?”
“All mad and blushing….. I just wanna throw you on my shoulder and take you to bed.”
“And that would settle everything? Sorry to spoil your illusions, but you’re not that good.” Reid went back to the bedroom started pulling off his pyjamas.
“I’m not?” Morgan looked like someone had just burst his balloon. “I am!”
“Is that what Annette told you?”
“And several others! You wanna call them and ask?!”
“Why bother calling?” Reid pulled a shirt over his head. “I could just go ask random people on the street and I would probably found someone you’ve slept with.”
“You’re exaggerating!”
“Just a little bit.” Reid took a deep breath. “You know what’s really bothering me about this? It’s not the fact that you kept that book when you were single.”
“Then what?”
“You’re reasons for keeping it in your drawer. We’ve been together for over a year, and you’re still holding on to that.”
“I hardly even remembered that book!”
“Without going into too much theorising, I can come up with just two possibilities. First is that you don’t have much belief in our longevity in a monogamous relationship and you therefore try to keep the door open to your old lifestyle.”
“Reid-”
“Or our sexlife is so boring, that you need to remind yourself of your past glory days.”
“Our sexlife is not boring!”
“Well, it has to be if you have to keep a list of replacements around. I always thought we were doing really well in that area.” Reid countered. “I’m taking Clooney out for a walk.”
“I already took him for a walk.”
“He needs another walk.”

When Reid returned an hour later, Morgan had dug up the one sure way to get the genius to calm down. The kitchen table was set and full of Chinese take-out (without chopsticks) and a large pepperoni pizza. Reid followed the scent to the kitchen and paused to give Morgan a long look.
“I know what you are trying to do.”
“I’m not trying anything.” Morgan said as innocently as he could.
“You’re trying to use my primary stimulus to get out of this.” Reid cut a slice from the pizza and started eating. “Are you going to throw it out?”
“I still don’t see why I should! I haven’t call any of those women and I’m not going to. I’m more than happy with our sexlife and I hope it lasts so long that I can die of a heart attach while making love to you.”
“Then get rid of it.”
“It’s not a big deal!”
“It’s a big deal to me, and that’s why you should do that.”
“Why are you so-”
“Morgan, if you don’t see why it’s so important to me, we really do have a problem.” Reid pulled out his cell phone and started tapping the keys.
“What are you doing?”
“Wait a minute.” Reid said surprisingly calmly. “Hope you didn’t have any plans for tonight.”
“No, why?”
“I got a call from Chad couple days ago, he’s here to run a two week training course. He wanted to check out this new restaurant and asked us to go with him.”
“Three of us together? No way in Hell.”
“I texed him we’re coming. You just said you didn’t have any plans for the evening.”
“I’m not going!”
“Okay, I’ll go with him.”
“You and that sleaze ball? You’re not going!”
“He’s a great guy, you just don’t like him because Garcia said you two could be twins.”
“He’s a cheap knock-off. And why is he even calling you?”
“I told you we’ve stayed friends. And based on that little black book of yours, you obviously know how important it is to stay in touch with old friends.”
“That’s different!”
“Okay, you can stay here. We’ll have a nice dinner in a cozy, romantic restaurant, and you can watch TV with Clooney.”
“Nice try, I’m coming with you. I wanna keep an eye on that creep.”
