Insurance for the unwary

Just a quick note for those who have never thought about it.... My spare set of car keys has not reappeared during the tidy-up after the burglary. Home insurance people say that car keys are (get this!) a "motor vehicle accessory" and are therefore not covered on the buildings and contents insurance. OK, what break-in? Was anything taken (appart from your car keys), do you need any help to sort things out? And would you lie to come over for dinner soon?

the house was burgled on Boxing Day while I was at work and the VCR (didn't know anybody stilll nicked them?), my snorkelling gear (weird thing to nick) and all my jewellery was stolen. As the items of most value were inherited, the family is also upset... The house is now tidy again, thanks.

That's a real shame, it's especially difficult when items have sentimental value that can never be replicated or replaced. If there's anything I can do to help let me know. Also let me know when you're free, it would be lovely to see you!
