several things to think about
Someone forwarded me this link to sign the petition to give Gurkhas a real pension. After all, they fought for the UK.

so I got woken up just before 1am by the bed shaking as if the cat had jumped on and then off, but he didn't respond when I called his name, and the door was still shut. Decided I had startled myself awake as I sometimes do, went to the bathroom, back to bed and back to sleep ( Read more... ) -
ah - days off and other things
Thanks to carolejo there has been an ongoing possibility of temporary residence in the Netherlands as Cirque du Soleil were seeking a dresser for their residence in Amsterdam. This has gone backwards and forwards for a while with possible interviews in Amserdam, then on the phone and then in London - but they have apparently decided that they will be ( Read more... ) -

I am considering broadband (without TV) for the purposes of translation work as I will need to send and receive large files, and so far the best deals seem to be TalkTalk, Orange, or Tiscali. Any comments would be welcome...Please ( Read more... ) -

Jammy having been declared relatively fit by the vet (hooray!), he is still on the diet and pills and we are establishing a new set of rules about jumping on empty shelves. In other words, it's not allowed and the use of the cardboard tube is being encouraged instead... you can jump in it, push it over and use it as a tunnel, pawkick the balls ( Read more... ) -

...been talked at by a streetlamp on the way to the bus station. There's one at the bottom of the covered market which says "Police Warning. Pickpockets operate in this area". It made me jump. Quite a bit ( Read more... )
