The VCR having been nicked in the burglary, I have been considering replacement... The best possibility is to buy a DVD recorder (I only have a DVD player at the moment) as VHS is not going to last much longer. I finally got round to attempting to watch the DVD of The Ninth Kingdom someone loaned me about a year ago. I spent some considerable time rewinding (if you call it that with DVDs) before eventually giving up. Just a quick note for those who have never thought about it.... My spare set of car keys has not reappeared during the tidy-up after the burglary. Home insurance people say that car keys are (get this!) a "motor vehicle accessory" and are therefore not covered on the buildings and contents insurance.
