So, lots of homophobic ballot initiatives we had, eh? How did we do?

Arizona Proposition 102(Ban on Gay Marriage): 56% in favor, 44% against.
Arkansas Initiative 1(Ban on Gay Couples Adopting Children): 57% in favor, 43% against.
California Proposition 8(Ban on Gay Marriage): 52% in favor, 48% against.

Well exactly - it's not like I'm out there exhorting teen girls to get abortions, but yer damn right, we shouldn't have the right to stop any woman from controlling the contents of her own body.

Personally, I do NOT think you have the right to stop even your own child from having an abortion if that's what she wishes. I believe that you can prohibit your child from going out on unsupervised dates. I do NOT believe that you can force your child to take a pregnancy to term. I expect that a parent can - and probably should - bring their parental influence and authority to bear in order to encourage their daughter to choose according to their beliefs and wishes, but they should not have the legal right to control that choice.

Check the abortion numbers again. You've got them backwards: all three were struck down.

Oh! Oh. I R stupid. I thought the Colorado "Life begins the moment da sperm hits da egg" proposition was particularly heinous. I feel a little better now.
