iPod help?

Leigh's iPod is borked.
It won't sync anymore - it gets a little ways in and then fails in writing and dies.

Help me great intertubes - is there any hope?

I've reset the ipod and restored it and done about anything there is to do that I can find online in help docs. Hell, I've even run CHKDSK on it as a hard drive and came up with nuthin.

What sort of connection are you using and to a Mac or PC?

the included iPod cord connecting it to a PC running WIN XP and iTunes.
