Columbia sees a franchise in 'Deryni'
Studio picks up spec based on Katherine Kurtz's novel

Columbia Pictures is bringing Katherine Kurtz's "Deryni Rising" to the big screen.

Oh, I hope they do a good job! I've thought for years - since I first read it! - that Deryni Rising could make a good movie.

That would be great - if they did it right. I'm still waiting for a Pern movie though and I hope they don't do what they did to Dragonlance and make it animated.

Ai, I had perfect casting for them, interesting and good matches for the descriptions... 20 years ago.

(20? Eeek, yes.)

Meanwhile, I give you BEEEG SHEEPDOG HUG because I forgot to do so on the 11th proper, and you deserved one. I was reminded in part by that nasty, spewful essay linked in comments in the latest Schlock-blog... which is sort of a backwards way to say 'thank you', but thank you anyway.
